ince the conclusion of the season, we have worked to collect all the Post Season Awards to release at a single time.  As we approach a week out from the State Finals, we have determined that we cannot wait any longer.  Tonight, we posted all the information that we have received and will update the missing data when it is provided.  We have received some requests to update individual personal pages and apologize to those waiting to see their records updated.

he Monroe County League has released their 2018 All League awards.  In total there were 53 1st Team picks and 51 2nd Team picks.  In addition, each of the three divisions had a Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

On the second to last day of the regular season, four of the eight games played went into overtime.  R-H defeated Brighton 9-8 off a goal from Rayea Davis, Fairport defeated Canandaigua 10-9 off a goal from Morgan Schwab, Penfield over HFL 7-6 and Geneva over C-C 13-12.  Additional scores were Spencerport over Pal-Mac 18-5, Waterloo over Aquinas 14-12, Mynderse-Romulus over Gananda 11-6 and Irondequoit over Greece Storm 9-2.

here were eight games played tonight.  Pittsford defeated Fayetteville-Manlius 10-7 and Spencerport defeated Lake Short 21-8 in out of Section games.  Schroeder defeated HFL 12-10 in a game at that tied at each step up to 10-10.  Remaining scores included: Penn Yan over Livonia 17-10, Aquinas over Marcus Whitman 14-6, Irondequoit over Brockport 13-4, Canandaigua over Victor 12-6 and Waterloo over Wayne 11-4.

There were 12 games played tonight, in one of the biggest night of games so far this season.  The closest match-ups were two overtime games: Webster Thomas over Victor 8-7 and Newark-Midlakes over Wayne 7-6.  Additional games included: Fairport over Gates-Chili 17-0, Penfield over Greece Storm 14-2, Waterloo over Gananda 16-9, Pal-Mac over Geneva 17-5, Canandaigua over Irondequoit 12-6, HFL over Eastridge 14-3, Spencerport over C-C 15-3, Brighton over Brockport 20-3, RH over Hilton 15-9 and Pittsford over Schroeder 15-4.

fter another day of rough weather, there continued to be weather based cancellations.  Although seven games were played regardless of the cold rain.  Gananda defeated Wayne 7-6 in the closest matchup of the night.  Other scores included: Brockport over Eastridge 13-4, Penfield over Hilton 15-5, Penn Yan over Aquinas 14-12, Mynderse-Romulus over Newark 7-2, Canandaigua over HFL 9-3 and Pittsford over Victor 13-3.

anandaigua defeated Chatham 14-5 and Baldwinsville defeated Penfield 7-6 in overtime in the two match-ups that were played tonight.  The Pittsford vs. Scarsdale game was postponed due to field conditions.  They hope to play the game tomorrow.

he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

ection Five swept Section Six in the State Quarter Finals.  Canandaigua defeated Hamburg 16-6, HFL defeated Lake Shore 16-12, Pal-Mac defeated East Aurora 17-0 and Pittsford defeated Frontier 15-1.  The Panthers and Red Raiders also won the Boys Western Regional Championships and both schools with have 2 teams in thate State Semi-Finals.

# 289  Smith Leads Canandigua to Victory
econd seeded Canandaigua scored five unanswered goals to take the lead late in the first half and never let up in their 11-7 win over seventh seeded Schroeder.  The Warriors kept up their play until the end; but every time they attempted to tie the game, the Braves had a response.  The turning point of the game came at 10:47 with Peyton Smith’s third goal of the game.  She scored on a broken clear that turned the momentum from in favor of the Warriors to squarely with the Braves.  Smith led the offense with 4g-1a and was a major factor during the defensive clearing ride.

welve more games were played on the penultimate day of the regular season.  The closest match was Brighton over Spencerport 8-6.  Additional scores included, Canandaigua over Churchville-Chili 15-5, Mynderse over Gates Chili 15-3, Newark over East Rochester 9-5, RH over Hilton 15-5, Schroeder over Brockport 13-8, Pittsford over Irondequoit 13-1,  Waterloo over Geneva 20-8,  Penn Yan over Wayne 19-10, Fairport over Mercy 17-11, Thomas over HFL 11-8.  Penfield vs. Skaneateles was not reported; however social media reports Skaneateles over Penfield 11-5.

here were 11 match-ups tonight to end the Week.  Two previously undefeated teams lost their first game tonight: Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 5-3 and Churchville-Chili defeated Lake Shore 14-8.  Brighton defeated RH 8-6 to remaining the only undefeated team (8-0) in Section Five.  Geneva defeated Gananda 7-5, Canandaigua defeated Hamburg 14-0, Mercy defeated Amherst 15-5, Waterloo defeated Mt. Mercy 14-2, Livonia defeated Wayne 9-8, Irondequoit defeated Victor 10-7, Newark defeated Midlakes 9-5 and Thomas defeated Schroeder 12-6.

pencerport scored four of the last five goals to comeback and defeat Canandaigua 10-9.  The Rangers did not take their first lead of the game until 4:56 remaining in the second half.
