ince the conclusion of the season, we have worked to collect all the Post Season Awards to release at a single time.  As we approach a week out from the State Finals, we have determined that we cannot wait any longer.  Tonight, we posted all the information that we have received and will update the missing data when it is provided.  We have received some requests to update individual personal pages and apologize to those waiting to see their records updated.

# 465  Penultimate Night of the Regular Season

On the second to last night of the season, all nine scheduled games were played.  There are now only 3 games left in the season.  Seeding is nearly completed and present (HERE).  Much of the seeding appears stable, but we are watching a few key matchups that can make changes in the final seedings.  We will publish them as soon as possible tomorrow night.

Tonight's closest game was Wayne 9-8 over Gananda.  Additional scores included Greece over Gates Chili 19-0, Irondequoit over Thomas 8-4, Hilton over HFL 11-8, Spencerport over Fairport 13-5, Mynderse-Romulus over Geneva 15-8, Waterloo over Marcus Whitman 11-5, Pal-Mac over Penn Yan 18-4 and Pittsford over Brighton 10-7.

There were 11 games scheduled for tonight in Section Five; we are still pending scores for Eastridge vs. Thomas and Mercy vs. Clarence.  Hopefully, those will be updated soon.  Of the nine remaining games, half were decided by over 10 points.  There were still close match-ups with Geneva defeating Wayne 9-8 and Waterloo defeating Aquinas 8-7.  The remaining scores were Marcus Whitman over Gananda 17-6, Churchville-Chili over Brockport 15-4, Spencerport over Victor 18-5, Mynderse-Romulus over Livonia 18-8, Hilton over Penn Yan 13-6, Brighton over Schroeder 16-7 and Irondequoit over Gates Chili 21-2.

There were nine games tonight in Section Five.  The closest matchup was Schroeder's 12-10 win over Hilton.  Mynderse-Romulus defeated Newark-Midlakes by 3 (9-6) and Mercy defeated Pal-Mac by 4 (13-9).  The remaining scores were Brighton over Victor 13-5, Irondequoit over Churchville-Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 15-3, Gananda over Jordan-Elbridge 14-5, Thomas over Brockport 12- and Penfield over HFL 13-3.

enfield scored nine goals in the first half on their way to a 12-7 win over Irondequoit.  The Eagles had six different players make their offensive scorebook with Bridget Inclema leading the pack with 2g-1a.  Erika Sherwood (1g-1a) and Maddie Verhagen (1g-1a) also added to the totals.  Leading in DCs was Maira Brennan (3).  Rebeca McGwin led in ground balls with six.  Additional stats can be found HERE.

he Monroe County League has released their 2018 All League awards.  In total there were 53 1st Team picks and 51 2nd Team picks.  In addition, each of the three divisions had a Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

em>Updated 5/20/18. There are three Out Bracket Games in Section Five this season. Class B has all three games.  Due to scheduling conflicts this weekend, each game will be played on a different night.  Friday night Thomas (6) hosts Gates-Chili (11). op seeded Brighton scored a four goal stretch to end the first half and begin the second half to defeat #8 seeded Irondequoit 9-6.  Irondequoit led for a large portion of the first half, and remained competitive before Brighton began to pull away in the early second half.

# 179  Sherwood's Feeds Give Irondequoit the Win
rika Sherwood finished with four assists in Irondequoit's 7-6 win over Mercy tonight.  Sherwood was the driving force behind the come from behind win.  The Monarchs took an early 4-1 lead in the first half before the Eagles scored four unanswered goals (three assisted by Sherwood) to take the 5-4 lead less than 3 minutes into the second half.  The Eagles continued to play solid defense and not take too many chances and held off Mercy's late attempts to tie the game.

airport is becoming used to playing in overtime.  In the last four games, the Red Raiders have gone to overtime three times and won all three.  Maddie Howe scored her third goal of the night with 1:11 left in overtime to secure the victory.

# 83  Irondequoit's Melidona and Butler are Keys in Victory
idfielder Quinn Melidona and attackman Marina Butler were both key figures in Irondequoit's 10-8 win over Rush-Henrietta.  The Eagles led for nearly the entire contest with R-H only tying the game briefly 4-4 early in the second half.  Butler finished the game with 1g-3a and Melidona was a force on defense for the Eagles.  Four different players scored two goals for Irondequoit with Celina Alvarado, Annie Brennan, Kiersten Pease and Erika Sherwood scoring.
