# 702  A Clean Sweep for Section V
LANCASTER-7 at FAIRPORT-12 -  The Red Raiders built a 7-2 first-quarter lead en route to their second straight NYS class A semifinal berth.  Ella Peers led Fairport (13-6) with four goals, two assists, and six draw controls.  Katie Mallaber added three goals and Brenna Goss chipped in two more.  It was Fairport’s second win in consecutive years over Lancaster (VI) in the NYS quarterfinal round.  The Red Raiders move on to Cortland, where they will take on Massapequa (VIII) Friday in a rematch of last year’s class A final.        [ BOX SCORE] 

GOWANDA-4 at PENN YAN-17 - The Mustangs scored a convincing win over their opponents from Gowanda (VI).  Nine players scored for Penn Yan (17-3), led by Bailey Cooper (6g/2a).  Ruby Berry, Taylor Mullins, and Makenna Mullins each had two goals for the Mustangs; Taylor Mullins also collected eight draw controls.  With the victory, the Mustangs secured a return trip to Cortland, where they will face Cold Spring Harbor (VIII) in the NYS class D semifinals on Friday.          [ BOX SCORE] 

LAKE SHORE-8 at MERCY-17 -  Leading the scoring for Mercy (10-9) were sophomore attacker Sydney Cook (4g-4a), junior midfielder Lydia Malvaso (4g-1a), and sophomore offensive player Mia Quagrello (3g). In the goal for Mercy was freshman Elinor Meyer who recorded 10s/6ga = 63% (40 mins). Mercy will play Sayville (Section XI) on Friday at 9:00 AM.       [ BOX SCORE]

# 700  Penn Yan and Fairport Win Sectionals
PITTSFORD-4 at FAIRPORT-9 - The defending class A champions scored six consecutive goals spanning the first and second quarters and were never seriously challenged.  Reese Fuenfstueck, Camryn DuBose, and Meghan Arserio each had two goals for Fairport (12-6), tournament MVP Ella Peers (1g/2a) had a game-high six draw controls, and Marisa Test made six saves.  The Red Raiders next play the winner of the section VI class A final between Lancaster and Orchard Park at 11 am on Saturday at FLCC.  Morgan Wilson scored her first varsity goal for Pittsford, which finishes its season with a record of 9-10.   There was no report from Pittsford at post-time.      [ BOX SCORE] 

PAL-MAC-8 at PENN YAN-11 - In a game played through a steady rain, the Mustangs came away with their second consecutive class D title and their eighth win in a row.  Tournament MVP Taylor Mullins had two goals to go with 13 draw controls.  Bailey Cooper (3g/2a) and Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger (4g) led the scoring for Penn Yan (16-3).  Teagan Hudak, eighth-grader Brinn Castrechini, and Jenna Santelli had two goals apiece for Pal-Mac (14-5); Santelli’s first goal of the game was the 100th of her varsity career.  The Mustangs advance to play the winner of the section VI class D final between Salamanca and Gowanda at 5 pm on Saturday at FLCC.     [ BOX SCORE]

MERCY-8 at PENN YAN-9 - There were lots of milestone in the close game at Penn Yan this afternoon, Penn Yan Sophomore midfielder Bailey Cooper (5g-2a) scored five goals and two assists as she reached her 200th career goal. Mercy sophomore attacker Sydney Cook (1g) reached her 50th career goal and freshman goalie Elinor Meyer (7s) reached her 100th career save. Junior midfielder Krista Harnischfeger reached her 100th career draw control with her 4 wins for the Monarchs. Leading the scoring for Penn Yan (11-3) were Taylor Mullins (1g-2a), Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger (1g-2a), and Gianna Voigt (1g-1a). MARCUS WHITMAN-11 at AQUINAS-17 -  In a high scoring game Freshman attacker Elizabeth Valentino (Aquinas) scored her first Varsity goal and Junior defender Hailee King (Marcus Whitman) scored her first Varsity goal. Leading the scoring for Aquinas (7-5) were Savannah Hinchcliffe (3g-1a), Alexandria Stacy (4g), Kessa Sangasy (2g), Lily Bell (2g), and Brynn Henry (1g-1a). Aquinas goalie Liz Tantalo recorded 4s/0ga = 100% (24 mins). Leading the scoring for Marcus Whitman were Aliysiah Clark (5g), Helen Snyder (1g-2a), (2g-1a), and Raegan Weissinger (1g). PENFIELD-18 at SCHROEDER-6 -  Penfield (11-4) extended their winning streak to five games as seven players made the offensive book including Peyton Rothfuss (4g-3a), Whitney Reynolds (4g), Avery Fordham (2g-2a), and Emma Alexander (2g-1a). Penfield goalie Karis Hand recorded 8s/6ga = 57% (48 mins). Scoring for Schroeder (7-7) were Lindsay Ruffalo (1g-2a), Kylee Race (1g-1a), Brooke Guelli (2g), and Molly Meyer (1g-0a).
