Plain Scores Six for Pittsford

Megan Plain finished with 6g-1a for the #1 seed Pittsford in their 17-4 win over #5 seed Webster Schroeder.  The Panthers scored the first two goals and the game was never tied.  They scored 6 of the first 7 and led 6-1 with 12:37 remaining in the first half.

Both teams played two goalies in the contest with Courtney Seeger coming in the final 10 minutes for Pittsford (and not facing a shot) and Kasie Bell coming in for the final 5 minutes for Schroeder (and not facing a shot).  Michelle Messenger played the majority of the game for Pittsford and recorded 2 saves.  Eighth grader Jorden Concordia played the majority of the game for the Warriors and recorded five saves.  Concordia, although not yet in high school, has played the entire season for the Warriors and recorded 108 saves on the season.  She is a fourth member of the Concordia family to play between the pipes.

Offensively, Plain was a part of the first five goals for the Panthers.  She assisted the first goal on a cross-crease pass to Abbey Leon.  She then scored the next four goals.  The first was a fast-break goal from Jenna Doyle.  The second was an inside feed from Caroline Cullinan.  The third was a slow-break goal with a feed from Maddie Miller (from behind the cage).  The fourth was a drive from Jillie Quevedo who passed off to Plain after the slide.  The Panthers continued the scoring.  They added the final five goals of the contest.

Schroeder's Payton Lill finished with 2g-1a for the Warriors.  She also controlled 8 draws and gave the Warriors many offensive opportunities.  Madison Bell finished with 1g-3a for Schroeder.  In addition to Plain, Maddie Miller (3g-2a), Jenna Doyle (3g-1a) and Caroline Cullinan (1g-3a) had big games for the Panthers.

Pittsford continues on the Finals, where they will face #2 seeded Fairport in the first game of a double header.  The Girls` and Boys` Class A Finals will be played back to back on May 31st.  The Girls will play at 5:00.
