Rush-Henrietta Win 10-9

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were nine games played today and most were mismatches. There was an exciting 10-9 win by RH over Brighton. Fairport had a 12-8 win over Pittsford and Newark-Midlakes had a 12-9 win vs Gananda-Marion.

Brighton vs Rush-HenNEWARK-MIDLAKES-12 at GANANDA-MARION-9 - Newark-Midlakes rode an offensive outburst by Stella Del Papa (6g, 1a) supported by Zoey Overslaugh (3g, 1a), Kelsea Socha (2g, 2a) and Thea Lewis (2a, 5 DC’s, 4 GB’s). Senior attacker Cynthia Hernandez scored her first Varsity goal. Gananda-Marion was paced by Senior, Colleen Ginsberg (2g, 2a) and Goalie, Maria Melnik, who made an incredible 17 saves.        [ BOX SCORE

VICTOR-15 at HILTON-2 -  Victor bounced back from their loss to Canandaigua earlier this week with a convincing 15-2 win over Hilton.  Victor is now 6-3 and Hilton is 2-5.  Hilton’s Goalie, Juliana Turner made 7 saves against the Blue Devils, and Lilly Mattucci added 3 Draw Controls and 2 Ground Balls to her Assist on the evening.  No Book was submitted for Victor at time of post.  Victor will not play again until next Tuesday, when they will do battle with Webster Thomas.        [ BOX SCORE

Brighton vs Rush-HenBRIGHTON-9 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-10 - Rush Henrietta dealt Brighton another one-goal loss, as they hosted the Bruins and defended their home turf by a score of 10-9.  RH took a 6-4 lead into the half and survived a valiant second half comeback effort by Brighton to secure the victory.  While the win moves the Comets record to 6-2, Brighton’s now 2-5 record includes 4 losses by 1 or 2 goal margins with two in overtime, and an early season schedule dotted with perennial powerhouses.  Danielle Garrett (5g) was the high scorer for Rush Henrietta tonight and Catrina Rowe earned her 100th point as a Varsity player. PENFIELD-13 at THOMAS-5 - Penfield made the short drive to Webster to defeat the Thomas Titans 13-5.  Penfield is now 5-3 on the season, while Thomas falls to 2-7.  Sophomore Peyton Rothfuss (4g, 1a) and Junior, Jenna Capozzi (3g, 1a) paced Penfield offensively, while Freshman Avery Fordham (4 DC’s, 4 GB’s) and Junior Aleah Petre shined between the 30’s.  No book was submitted for Webster Thomas, who will visit cross-town rival Schroeder on Friday.       [ BOX SCORE

Brighton vs Rush-HenBROCKPORT-2 at IRONDEQUOIT-17 -  Irondequoit improved to 5-3 with a dominant 17-2 victory over visiting Brockport tonight.  Ella Brennan (3g, 4a) and Hannah Barber (4g, 2a) accounted for a large chunk of the Eagles scoring, which included 9 different point scorers in the lopsided win. Sophomore attacker Gianna Geesler scored her first Varsity goal for the Eagles.   No book was submitted for Brockport at time of post, whose record is now 2-5.        [ BOX SCORE

PITTSFORD-8 at FAIRPORT-12 -  Fairport improved their record to 7-2 with a 12-8 win over Pittsford tonight.  Junior, Ella Peers (3g, 3a) had a big night for the Red Raiders leading the team in both scoring as well as Draw Controls with 7.  Katie Mallaber (3g) also notched a Hat trick for Fairport. No Book was submitted for Pittsford at time of post. Pittsford will be on the road again on Friday when they will be hosted by Spencerport, and Fairport will also be traveling to Irondequoit on Friday.       [ BOX SCORE

Brighton vs Rush-HenHONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-11 at SCHROEDER-3 -  HFL secured their second win of the season in convincing fashion with an 11-3 win over Schroeder in Webster this evening.  HFL is now 2-5 and Schroeder drops to 5-4 after the loss.  HFL took a 5-3 lead into the half, and ran away with game in the second half, blanking the warriors, while scoring an additional six goals.  Senior Camryn Trybuskiewicz (3g, 3a) was the driving offensive force for the Cougars this evening, along with fellow Senior, Paige Kidd (3g) who also caused four Turnovers and controlled five Draws. HFL hosts Rush Henrietta on Friday.        [ BOX SCORE

 PAL-MAC-14 at WAYNE-2 - Pal-Mac rode a wave of balanced offense from eleven different point scorers to cruise to a 14-2 win over Wayne tonight.  Pal-Mac’s Teagan Hudak garnered the most possessions for Pal-Mac by scooping four Ground Balls, winning nine Draw Controls and Causing two turnovers.  Anabelle Ruffel and Isabella Veltre were the goal scorers for Wayne. Senior goalie Mimi Ugalde reached her 200th save with her 6 saves in the game. Wayne will look to improve their 3-6 record when they host Livonia-Avon on May 1.          [ BOX SCORE

Brighton vs Rush-Hen

WATERLOO-14 at GENEVA-7 - Waterloo visited neighboring Geneva to deliver a 14-7 win over the Panthers today.  Waterloo leaned on four scorers for all of their offensive production, led by Maci Mueller (5g, 1a) and closely followed by Giana Delucia (4g, 1a), Bailey Rossignol (3g, 1a) and Lainie Forde (2g, 2a).  Allie Good (5g, 2a) was a bright spot for Geneva, playing a role on all seven of their goals, while also securing eight Draw Controls and reaching her 100th DC.        [ BOX SCORE]
