Section V Girls Go 4-for-4 Against Section VI
June 5, 2026 - DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - All four Section V girls' programs swept their Section VI opponents Thursday, extending a remarkable streak to 56 consecutive 
NYS tournament wins against Section VI dating back to 2009. Penn Yan (18-1) led the way with Miley Anderson's five goals and Bailey Cooper's six assists, while HFL got five goals from Shaye Angelo and six assists from Emma Blythe. Penfield won their thirteenth straight and Victor continued their strong postseason run, though stats for both were unavailable at post time.
Saturday's regional round features an all-Section V vs. Section III slate: Penn Yan vs. Westhill (Class D), HFL vs. Jamesville-DeWitt (Class C), Penfield vs. West Genesee (Class A), and Victor vs. Fayetteville-Manlius (Class B) — the same four schools representing Section V in both the boys' and girls' regionals.
