Wayne came out swinging and scored the first two goals of the night.  Bailey Pratt and Hannah Zenelovic scored back to back to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead with 18:57 remaining.  The Thunder came back with three goals of their own.  Emily Benham scored two with Chelsea Bauld scoring the third.  Ath/Ody led for four minutes before Zenelovic tied the game at 3-3.  Although the score was tied four more times, the Thunder never re-took the lead.

Wayne sored three more goals to lead 6-3 with four minutes left in the first quarter, it was the first of two times the Eagles attempted to pull away.  Ath/Ody scored two more goals to end the half at 6-5.  Seanna Beikirch scored both goals unassisted.  The Thunder also scored the first goal of the second half only 0:21 into the half.  The score only remained tied for 20 seconds until Zenelovic scored her third.  Ath/Ody tied the game again with another goal from Beikirch.  The score oscillated again with goals from Panepento and Beikirch.

With 16:49 remaining Wayne scored four out of five straight goals to increase their lead to three for the second time.  The Eagles led 12-9 with 11:33 remaining.  Just like in the first half, the Thunder did not let them pull away they scored back to back goals (Beikirch and Benham) to pull within one.  Zenelovic's fifth and final goal put Wayne back up by two with three minutes left on the clock.
