Meagher Lifts Fairport in Overtime

- Junior midfielder Sydney Meagher scored only her 7th goal of the season and her first goal of the night to give Fairport the 12-11 win over Brighton in overtime.  She scored with 0:41 left in the first overtime period on an unassisted goal for the Red Raiders.

The game was close throughout with Brighton leading for the majority.  The game was tied a total of five times (1-1, 7-7, 8-8, 10-10, 11-11).  The Red Raiders scored the opening goal to take a lead only 0:35 into the game with an unassisted goal from Maddie Howe (3g).  Brighton came back with three goals of their own over a two minute span.  The Barons continued to increase their lead into the final two minutes of the first and after a goal from Rene Gangarosa led 7-4 with 2:18 remaining.  Fairport came back and scored three goals in the final two minutes to tie the game at the half.  Megan Konieczy, Cameryn Dera and Hannah Marafioti scored for the Red Raiders.  The score was 7-7 at halftime.

Much like the first, Fairport scored the opening goal of the second half and Brighton responded with three of their own.  Howe added another goal for the Red Raiders.  Brighton led 10-8 with 13:58 remaining.  Dera and Hannah Marafioti scored for Fairport to tie the game 10-10.  With 5:55 remaining, Rachel Wager scored for the Barons to give them another lead.  Howe scored with 0:25 remaining in regulation to force overtime.

Howe also led her team in draw controls with 7. In the cage, Isabel Hofford finished at 50% with 11 saves.
