he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

here were 11 match-ups tonight to end the Week.  Two previously undefeated teams lost their first game tonight: Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 5-3 and Churchville-Chili defeated Lake Shore 14-8.  Brighton defeated RH 8-6 to remaining the only undefeated team (8-0) in Section Five.  Geneva defeated Gananda 7-5, Canandaigua defeated Hamburg 14-0, Mercy defeated Amherst 15-5, Waterloo defeated Mt. Mercy 14-2, Livonia defeated Wayne 9-8, Irondequoit defeated Victor 10-7, Newark defeated Midlakes 9-5 and Thomas defeated Schroeder 12-6.

# 222  Three More Games on Thursday
here were three more games today with two out of Section contests and one intra-section matchup.  Both Victor and Pittsford defeated their out of town opponents and Livonia won at home.  Victor defeated Baldwin School 12-8, Pittsford defeated Scarsdale 11-5 and Livonia defeated Wayne 7-4.

here were three more matches played today.  Victor travel to Pennsylvania for their first of two games.  Today they lost to Episcopal 13-9 for the third time since 2011.  Back in Section Five, Thomas defeated Hilton 15-5 and Schroeder defeated Penn Yan 16-7.

# 206  Messier Leads Victor
aci Messier was a key player all over the field in Victor’s 16-5 win over Greece Olympia-Arcadia.  The Blue Devils led 12-1 going into the second half.  Messier finished with 4g-3a, 2 draw controls and 2 groundballs.  Messier, who took the majority of the draws, was often instrumental in directing the ball to one of her teammates.  Victor finished 10/23 at the draw, over half of their losses were due to technical fouls.

# 194  Erin Coykendall Scores Game Winner
pencerport's Erin Coykendall scored the game winning goal with 0:07 remaining on the clock.  The Rangers defeated Victor 13-12, for the first time in the program's history.  The Rangers and the Blue Devils had faced three previous times with Victor winning each one.  The last time they faced was in the Sectional Tournament Finals where the Blue Devils won 18-12 to secure the Class B Title.

Two boys Varsity Lacrosse players and two girls Varsity Lacrosse players joined four other seniors for a celebration at Victor as they honored the eight who signed National Letters of Intent.

# 150  Sectionals Recap
The 2016 Sectional Tournament concluded with Pittsford (Class A), Victor (Class B) and HFL (Class C) as Champions.  This was the third straight win for the Panthers, the third straight win for the Blue Devils and the fifth straight win for the Cougars.

# 146  Victor defeats Hamburg to Head to State Semis

Victor scored the opening goal and never trailed in their 23-9 win over Hamburg.  The Bulldogs finished their season at 12-8.  Victor was led in scoring by Emily Hawryschuk (7g-3a), Kaci Messier (6g-3a) and Bridget Flynn (5g-1a).  The three girls combined for 18 of the 23 goals.  One major key to their success came at the draw.  The Blue Devils combined for 24/32 draws.  Claire Herrmann finished with 5 of the 8 draws for the Bulldogs.  She also added 2g-2a.  The big scorer for the Bulldogs was Rebecca Izzo with 4g-1a.

t the conclusion of the Class B Tournament.  Section Five announced the first ever All Tournament Team.  The Team consists of the top 13 players in the Class B Tournament this year.  There are 12 regular spots and an MVP spot.

The Semi-Final match-ups will be played over the next two days.  The Class A games will played on May 26th at HF-L.  The Class B game will be played on May 27th at Pittsford Sutherland.  The Class C games will be played on May 27th at Victor.

Quarter final match-ups will be played over the next two days.  At this point, Class B and Class C are both full brackets with 8 teams remaining in each.  Class A starts their tournament on Monday with two games to decide who will face the #1 and #2 seeds.

Kaci Messier and Emily Hawryschuk were major factors in the Victor comeback against Webster Thomas.  Victor outscored Thomas 7-3 in the second half and didn't take the lead until seven minutes into the second half.

pencerport (the last undefeated team) fell tonight to Fairport in overtime 7-6.  Other close games included Gananda over Newark 7-3, Penfield over Pal-Mac 9-8, Schroeder over HFL 16-15 and Aquinas over Mercy 9-7.  Rounding out game night: Mynderse over Gates-Chili 14-3, West Genesee over Victor 16-6, Rush-Henrietta over Livonia 16-6, Brockport over Ath/Ody 20-3, Thomas over Churchville-Chili 14-6 and Hilton over Eastridge 19-6.

here were eight games played on the last day of April.  Half were close and half were one-sided.  R-H defeated Schroeder 9-8, Eastridge defeated Newark 8-7, Corning defeated Canandaigua 12-8 and Penfield defeated Churchville-Chili 9-4.  On the other side of the coin, Irondequoit defeated Livonia 17-4, Victor defeated Hilton 17-5, Thomas defeated Lancaster 17-6 and Brighton defeated Mercy 22-5.

# 51  Hawryschuk Scores 7 in Victor Win
ictor scored the opening goal of their 14-5 win over Fairport and never trailed.  Bridget Flynn scored the first goal at 19:21 remaining in the first half with a fast-break goal.  She went on to score 1g-3a for the Blue Devils.  Fairport kept the game close for the first 15 minutes.  One minute after Flynn's goal, Megan Koniecnzy scored with a cross-crease pass from Maddie Howe to tie the game at 1-1.  Howe was a force for the Red Raiders with 2g-1a (to lead her team) and 6 draw controls (to lead her team).

# 45  Miller's Six Goals Lifts Pittsford
addie Miller was apart of seven out of nine goals in the 9-4 Pittsford win over Victor.  The Panther's started off strong with a Miller scoring four unanswered goals to start the game.  Victor added a single goal before the completion of the first half.
