Victor Wins Championship

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - It was one for three in the New York State Championships as Victor won their fifth consecutive title, while Penfield and Penn Yan fell. There were no stats available at post time.

PENFIELD-6 at HUNTINGTONJ-9 - The Patriots fell just short in their pursuit of back-to-back championships. The teams were tied at six entering the fourth quarter, but Huntington (XI) scored three unanswered goals to take the class A title.

VICTOR-13 at GARDEN CITY-5 - The Blue Devils jumped out to a 4-0 first-quarter lead en route to their fifth consecutive NYS class B championship. Only Garden City (VIII), which won seven consecutive class B titles from 2006 through 2012, has had a longer championship run.

PENN YAN-8 at COLD SPRING HARBOR-11 - Penn Yan was unable to overcome the two-time defending class D champions from Cold Spring Harbor (VIII). The Mustangs finish a remarkable season with a section V-best record of 20-2.    [Story and BOX SCORE
