Twenty-Eight Teams in 2026
This year there are 28 teams playing in Section V.
The teams are divided among four classes that compete for Sectional championships and later, the New York State tournaments. Generally, schools with 1,036 or more students are in Class A. Schools with 728 to 1,035 are in Class B. Schools with 450-727 students are in Class C and schools with 449 or fewer are in Class D.

Athena-Odyssey - The Thunder combined with the Lightning to form one team in 2018
East Rochester - East Rochester dropped their Varsity team in 2018 to focus on building from the lower levels
Eastridge/BK - The combined team was unable to field a team for the 2026 season.
Livonia - Livonia combined with Avon in 2022
Midlakes - Midlakes ended their program before the 2018 season.
Mynderse - Mynderse combined with Romulus in 2018
Mynderse-Romulus - After the 2025 season Mynderse-Romulus merged with Waterloo for the 2026 season.

Olympia-Arcadia - The Thunder combined with the Lightning to form one team in 2018
Waterloo - After the 2025 Season Waterloo merged with Mynderse and Romulus for a new team.
