# 750  Aquinas-WOIS, Irondequoit, and CA Lead the Action
strong>DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Aquinas-WOIS edged Frontier (section VI) 14-13, with Savannah Hinchcliffe scoring eight goals to lead the way. Irondequoit claimed a 13-7 win over Pal-Mac, powered by four goals from Revlie Genier and three from Lucy Whipple. Canandaigua defeated Orchard Park (section VI) 13-9, behind five goals and three assists from Leah Sheridan. In the two remaining games, Rush-Henrietta topped Thomas 11-5, and Lancaster (section VI) overcame Schroeder by a score of 6 to 3. 

THOMAS-5 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-11 - Rush-Henrietta defeated Thomas 11-5 in a Monroe County game, earning its first win of the season. Danielle Garrett led the scoring with three goals and three assists, while goalie Taylor Potwin made 11 saves. For the Titans, ninth-grader Carly Fitch and sophomore Brynn Becker scored their first varsity goals. Rush-Henrietta has now won six consecutive matchups against Thomas since 2018.    [ BOX SCORE

PAL-MAC-7 at IRONDEQUOIT-13 - Irondequoit defeated Pal-Mac 13-7, pulling away in the second half behind four goals from Revlie Genier and three from Lucy Whipple. Ninth-grader Rylee Conlon scored her first varsity goal. Irondequoit goalies Emma Francis and Mia Conine combined for five saves. For Pal-Mac, Teagan Hudak and Baylee Vilord each scored twice, and Tessa Camelo finished with 10 saves. Irondequoit remains undefeated against Pal-Mac in seven games between the teams since 2015.    [ BOX SCORE

AQUINAS-WOIS-14 at FRONTIER-13 - Aquinas-WOIS narrowly defeated Frontier 14-13 in a non-league game, led by Savannah Hinchcliffe’s eight goals. Brynn Henry added two goals and three assists, while Lily Bell scored her first varsity goal. The Little Irish built a 10-2 halftime advantage and held on for the win.    [ BOX SCORE

LANCASTER-6 at SCHROEDER-3 - Lancaster defeated Schroeder 6-3 in a non-league match on April 5, maintaining a narrow lead throughout much of the game. Molly Meyer led Schroeder with two goals, supported by one goal from Brooke Guelli. Maura Ugine recorded seven saves. strong>DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Thursday`s games showcased a number of exciting games. Irondequoit edged Hilton 8-7 in overtime, earning its sixth consecutive victory in the rivalry, with Grace Bottiglier scoring the decisive goal. Canandaigua triumphed over Schroeder 9-6, powered by Leah Sheridan’s five points and Nola Weaver’s hat trick; Brooke Guelli and Molly Meyer each netted three goals for Schroeder. Greece Storm dominated Gananda-Marion 12-4 in a non-league clash, led by a seven-point performance from Erica Savage. Pittsford opened its season with a 13-10 win against Spencerport, despite six goals from Brooke Endres, including her milestone 100th career goal.

IRONDEQUOIT-8 at HILTON-7 in overtime - Irondequoit defeated Hilton 8-7 in an overtime thriller, with junior Grace Bottiglier scoring the game-winning goal. For Hilton, Lilly Mattucci tallied two goals and two assists, and junior goalkeeper Juliana Turner recorded 10 saves. # 706  2024 All League Awards

[UPDATED] The annual All-League Awards have been posted and are available on the player pages as well as the awards page.

The Finger Lakes League awarded first team awards to Reagan Diehl, Chelsea Korzeniewski, Anna Priebe, Jenna Santelli, Taryn Goodness, Sidney Clickner, Stella Del Papa, Lainie Forde, Colleen Ginsberg, Myah Herron, Madelyn Hillman, Teagan Hudak, Maci Mueller, Bailey Rossignol, Maddie Whitford, and Amelia Reese.

The Attack Player of the Year was Chelseas Korzaneski from Mynderse-Romulus. The Defender Player of the Year was Taryn Goodness from Pal-Mac. The Midfield Player of the Year was Maci Muller from Waterloo who was also named Finger Lakes Player of the Year. The Head Coach of the Year was E.J. Burse (Pal-Mac).

The USA Lacrosse All-Americans were Molly Guzik (Spencerport), Hanna Davis (Canandaigua), Devin Livingston (Victor), Ella Peers (Fairport) and  Reagan Diehl (Pal-Mac. The All-Academics were Lucy Lederman (Brighton), Angelia Oechsle (Rush-Henrietta), Katie Mallaber (Fairport), and Allie Chimenti ((Wayne).

Monroe County The Monroe County League first team D-1 awards to Katie Mallaber, Madison Van Gorder, Lilly Mattucci, Jenna Capozzi, Peyton Rothfuss, Cecily Kaul, Dani Mooney, Angelia Oechsle, Catrina Rowe, Danielle Garrett, Kate Dewald, Abby Murphy, Allie Pisano, Julia Bruno, Maia Pronti, Ryann Savage, Lucy Ruller, and Mia Estelle.

The D-1 Defensive Player of The Year was Devin Livingston (Victor). The D-1 Offensive Player of The Year was Ella Peers (Fairport) and the Coach of the Year was Dave York (Penfield).

The Monroe County League awarded first team D-2 awards to Zoe Baase, Caroline Lyttle, Hanna Davis, Leah Sheridan, Nola Weaver, Campbell Hewlett, Paige Kidd, Shaye Angelo, Ali Baumgartner, Ella Brennan, Emma Francis, Alyssa Nichols, Brooke Endres, and Molly Meyer.

The D-2 Defensive Player of The Year was Rose Heagney (Canandaigua). The D-2 Offensive Player of The Year was Molly Guzik (Spencerport) and the Coach of the Year was Kevin O`Connell (HFL) who was also selected as the Monroe County Coach of the Year.

The Independent teams also selected awards in 2024. First teams awards went to Mia Lusardi, Krista Harnischfeger, Elinor Meyer, Marina Reddington, Emma Kravetz, Savannah Hinchcliffe, Brynn Henry, Kessa Sangasy, Ada Krupa, Jill Willis, Erica Savage, and Mara Misiurewicz. The Independent Player of the Year was Mia Quagrello (Mercy).

# 701  Victor and Mercy Win Championships
MERCY-10 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-9 - The Cougars took the 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and then led 8-5 at the half. The second half belonged to the Monarchs who outscored HFL 4-1 in the third, tying the game at 9-9 after three quarters. Mercy scored the lone goal in the fourth giving them the Championship. Leading the scoring for Mercy (9-9) were sophomore Mia Quagrello (4g), junior Krista Harnischfeger (2g-1a), and sophomore attacker Sydney Cook (2g). Leading the scoring for Honeoye Falls-Lima (9-10) were senior Camryn Trybuskiewicz (1g-4a), sophomore Shaye Angelo (4g), and junior Rylee Bennett (1g-1a). Mercy will play Lake Shore (Section VI) at FLCC on Saturday.         [ BOX SCORE

Canandaigua vs VictorVICTOR-15 at CANANDAIGUA-10 - Canandaigua took a 3-2 lead after the first quarter, but the Blue Devils responded with seven goals in the second quarter and led at the half 9-5. When they outscored the Gray Wolves 5-2 in the third it was too much for Canandaigua despite scoring three goals in the last stanza. Scoring for Canandaigua (16-3) were senior Hanna Davis (3g-1a), sophomore Lola Schorr (3g-1a), senior Caroline Lyttle (2g-1a), sophomore Leah Sheridan (2g-1a), and junior Samantha Lupton (1a).  There was no report from Victor (16-3) at post-time. The Blue Devils will play Clarence (Section VI) at 1:00 PM on Saturday at FLCC.     [ BOX SCORE

strong>DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Canandaigua (13-1) ended their undefeated season at the hands of South Jefferson (Section III) in a one-goal game that ended 8-7. Pal-Mac Head Coach E.J. Burse won his 200th game when the Red Raiders defeated East Aurora, 18-4. In Class B Spencerport, the number 6 seed defeated the number 3 seed, Mercy, 16-11 so the Rangers advance along with Canandaigua, Irondequoit and Victor for their semi-final round at Pittsford Sutherland on Thursday.
