he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

# 193  Mooney Scores in Second Overtime for Pittsford
llie Mooney scored with 0:57 remaining in the second overtime period to give Pittsford the 6-5 win over Fairport.  The Panthers came back from trailing to force overtime and then secure the victory.  The Red Raiders led for the entire game and the first time that Pittsford took the lead was the game winning goal.  Pittsford continued their winning streak vs. Fairport, having won the last 14 times that they faced.

The 2016 Sectional Tournament concluded with Pittsford (Class A), Victor (Class B) and HFL (Class C) as Champions.  This was the third straight win for the Panthers, the third straight win for the Blue Devils and the fifth straight win for the Cougars.

Top seeded Pittsford will be the Class A representative to the NYS Tournament.  The Panthers defeated Fairport 11-6.  They scored the first goal and never trailed in their win over the Red Raiders.  Jillie Quevedo set the pace of the entire game when she scored on fast-break goal only 0:15 into the contest.

t the conclusion of the Class A Tournament.  Section Five announced the first ever All Tournament Team.  The Team consists of the top 13 players in the Class A Tournament this year.  There are 12 regular spots and an MVP spot.

# 137  Howe and Pollack Lift Fairport to Finals

Fairport scored the first goal and the game was never tied in their 9-5 win over Rush-Henrietta.  The second seeded Red Raiders took control of the game early and although the Royal Comets fought hard, they could not keep pace.  Maddie Howe finished the game with a team leading 4g-1a, as well as three draw controls.  Brittney Pollack finished with 1g-4a for the Red Raiders.  Junior midfielder Sydney Meagher was also a major factor in the win with 6 draw controls.  The Red Raiders won 11/16 draws.

The Semi-Final match-ups will be played over the next two days.  The Class A games will played on May 26th at HF-L.  The Class B game will be played on May 27th at Pittsford Sutherland.  The Class C games will be played on May 27th at Victor.

ast major night of the regular season.  With only two games tomorrow, the regular season is coming to a close.  Tomorrow at midnight (12:01 AM on 5/20/2016) the Sectional Seeding will be locked and the tournament brackets will be released.  An article will be published tomorrow with links to the brackets and the seeding for Class A, B and C.  Tonight there were 10 games scheduled, although only 9 have scores reported at the moment.

# 123  Howe and Pollack Lead Fairport to Victory
addie Howe scored 5g-1a and Brittney Pollack scored 2g-4a to lead Fairport to a 12-8 win over Penfield.  The two were a part (either goal or assist) on 10 of the 12 goals for the Red Raiders.  Penfield kept the game close for the first 35 minutes before Fairport started pulling ahead.  The Red Raiders scored the final three goals and four of the last five to secure the win.

unior midfielder Sydney Meagher scored only her 7th goal of the season and her first goal of the night to give Fairport the 12-11 win over Brighton in overtime.  She scored with 0:41 left in the first overtime period on an unassisted goal for the Red Raiders.

# 51  Hawryschuk Scores 7 in Victor Win
ictor scored the opening goal of their 14-5 win over Fairport and never trailed.  Bridget Flynn scored the first goal at 19:21 remaining in the first half with a fast-break goal.  She went on to score 1g-3a for the Blue Devils.  Fairport kept the game close for the first 15 minutes.  One minute after Flynn's goal, Megan Koniecnzy scored with a cross-crease pass from Maddie Howe to tie the game at 1-1.  Howe was a force for the Red Raiders with 2g-1a (to lead her team) and 6 draw controls (to lead her team).

# 33  Pollack Leads Red Raiders to Victory
Fairport junior Britteny Pollack led in scoring with 4g-3a in Fairport's 19-5 win over Mercy.  The Red Raiders had 12 different players make their offensive scorebook for the season opener.  Junior midfielder Maddie Howe and senior midfielder Megan Konieczny finished with 3g-1a each.  She was also demonstrative at the draw; she finished with six draw controls for Fairport.  Mercy seventh graded Sami Carey finished with a hand in each of the five Monarch goals (3g-2a).

# 18  2015 All-Greater Rochester
The 2015 All Greater Rochester list was published at the end of the season and Webster Thomas senior Emily Resnick was named the 2015 Player of the Year by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.  All told, sixteen players were noted on the list.  Leading the charge were players from Churchville Chili, Victor, Pittsford and Irondequoit with two players each.
