he Monroe County League has released their 2018 All League awards.  In total there were 53 1st Team picks and 51 2nd Team picks.  In addition, each of the three divisions had a Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

oday, the Section released the 2018 All American and Academic All American Award winners.  There were a total of 5 winners for each award in the Greater Rochester Region.  Both All American and Academic All American awards were split with 4 coming from Monroe County and 1 coming from the Finger Lakes.

he Rochester Chapter of US Lacrosse has announced the 2018 Herb Fitch Lacrosse All Star Game player selections. This year`s contest, featuring some of the best of the graduating seniors will be held on Thursday, June 14th at Victor High School. The boys`game will start at 8:00 PM after the girls` play at 6:00 PM and the youth clinic which starts at 4:30.

em>Updated 5/20/18. There are three Out Bracket Games in Section Five this season. Class B has all three games.  Due to scheduling conflicts this weekend, each game will be played on a different night.  Friday night Thomas (6) hosts Gates-Chili (11). Saturday night Irondequoit (8) hosts Brockport (9). Sunday night Schroeder (7) hosts Churchville-Chili (10).

here were six games played tonight in the final day of the regular season.  Brockport defeated Churchville-Chili 16-15 in the closest game of the night.  Additional scores included Newark-Midlakes defeated Gananda 8-4, Pittsford defeated Hilton 18-2, Brighton defeated HFL 12-5, Marcus Whitman defeated Mynderse-Romulus 11-2 and Thomas defeated Irondequoit 10-5.

# 337  McCabe Scores in Overtime for Thomas
raw controls were the name of the game in tonight’s Webster Thomas victory over Victor 8-7 in double overtime.  Junior midfielder Molly McCabe finished the game with 1g-1a and scored the game winning goal in the first Sudden Victory overtime period.

here were two games that went to overtime tonight.  Rush Henrietta Junior Gabby Garrett scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to defeat Canandaigua 9-8 and Whitesboro defeated Waterloo 14-13 in overtime.  Additional games played tonight were Thomas over Mercy 15-8, Irondequoit over Gates Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 12-4, Penfield over Brighton 13-5 and Fairport over HFL 10-8.  Victor travelled to West Genesee to become the third team to face the Wildcats this season; West Genesee defeated Victor 17-3.

here were seven games played tonight in Section Five.  Canandaigua remained undefeated at 4-0 with their 9-8 win over Thomas in the closest matchup of the night.  In other scores, West Genesee defeated RH 10-3, Pittsford defeated Brighton 7-4, Schroeder defeated Eastridge 14-1, Mercy defeated Clarence 14-6, Victor defeated Brockport 14-3 and Irondequoit defeated Churchville-Chili 18-6.

# 326  Nothnagle and Herring Lead RH in Win
ush Henrietta came back with the final three goals to defeat Webster Thomas 8-7.  The Royal Comets were led by their defense.  Goalie Kaila Herring and defenseman Clare Nothnagle were demonstrative in the win and were the key factors for the Royal Comets.  The remaining three starting close defensemen were all Sophomores and also had a great day: Jenna DeVito, Amber Daley and Grace Nothnagle.

here were seven games played today in Section Five.  Marcus Whitman defeated Gananda 14-10 in the highest scoring game of the night.  Eastridge over Wayne 5-4 was the closest game of the night with Thomas' 9-7 win over Hilton also a close contest.  In the lone game with an out-of-section opponent, West Genesee defeated HFL 11-5.

he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

# 243  Thomas wins Webster v. Webster Match
ebster Thomas defeated Webster Schroeder in the battle of the Webster High Schools 12-6.  Emily Glagolev turned the tied with three straight goals in just over three minutes.  Glagolev finished with 5g on the night.  Tonight, was the first time back to Titan stadium for Schroeder Head Coach Brian Hanley after moving from Assistant Coach at Thomas to Head Coaching at Schroeder this season.  During the team introductions, he was warmly greeted by his former team.

# 211  Coykendall Leads Spencerport
Emily Coykendall was a part of all six first quarter goals in Spencerport's 12-8 win over Webster Thomas.  The Rangers led 6-2 at the half and held off the late advance by the Titans.  Thomas scored five out of six straight goals near the end of the second half (the final goal of the game was an open net goal for the Rangers).

# 135  Thomas Defense Steps up in Overtime Win
n the second game of the tournament where the lower seed won, #5 Thomas defeated #4 Irondequoit 10-9 in double overtime.  The Titans` defense was stellar and they were the keystone to their victory.  Sophmore Keyal Bay, juniors Julia Nicolosi and Grace Lagoner and senior Allison Barnes and junior goalie Haley Barrett deserve more press than they will receive.  The five close defenseman, along with their midfield counterparts were beyond impressive in today`s contest.  In addition to the defense, junior midfielder Emily Glagolev had a stand-out day at the draw.  She finished with 10 draw controls for the Titans.

Kaci Messier and Emily Hawryschuk were major factors in the Victor comeback against Webster Thomas.  Victor outscored Thomas 7-3 in the second half and didn't take the lead until seven minutes into the second half.
