There were thirty teams playing Varsity Girls Lacrosse in Section V. There were 688 players on the final rosters. Brockport carried the largest roster with thirty-one players and Waterloo-Marcus Whitman had the smallest with fourteen.

Victor and Mercy Win Championships

DAY IN REVIEW: Wednesday, May 29 - Second seeded Victor won their third Section V championship in a row with a strong second and third quarter performance. Mercy came from behind, scoring five goals in the second half, to defeat HFL 10-9.

CA Ends Undefeated Season in One Goal Loss

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Canandaigua (13-1) ended their undefeated season at the hands of South Jefferson (Section III) in a one-goal game that ended 8-7. Pal-Mac Head Coach E.J. Burse won his 200th game when the Red Raiders defeated East Aurora, 18-4. Thomas won on the road, defeating Liverpool 13-11.  Other results: BALDWINSVILLE-3 at VICTOR-22; FAYETTEVILLE-MANLIUS-5 at PITTSFORD-11; MARCUS WHITMAN-2 at WATERLOO-14; GREECE STORM-7 at AQUINAS-17.

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - 8th grader Lucy Whipple scored her only goal in the game, but in overtime for the win fro Irondequoit in their game with Spencerport. Victor also won their game against Brighton in overtime and the Saints won their game against the Storm, 6-5 in another exciting Section V day of lacrosse.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Rush-Henrietta senior Avery Roberts scored the game-winning goal with one second left on the clock to give the Royals Comets a 10-9 victor at Victor. Mynderse-Romulus saw 14 saves from goalkeeper Maria del Carmen on their way to a 9-6 win over Newark-Midlakes. Penn Yan used a strong second half to pull away from Waterloo/Marcus-Whitman and win 11-8.

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY -  In a re-match of last year's Sectional Title game, Rush-Henrietta beat Pittsford 6-4. Mercy played their second game in two days but it was Canandaigua with the 8-7 win. Irondequoit was a 12-6 winner over HF-L and Fairport was a 10-9 winner over Penfield.

There were three games played on Tuesday. Bishop Kearney had a 12-11 win against Mynderse-Romulus and Canandaigua had a 12-9 win against Corning. HF-L also won.

There were fourteen games played on Monday. Most games were mismatches, but R-H had a 13-12 win over CA and Wayne had a 12-10 win over Marcus Whitman. Victor beat Brighton 11-8 and Corning beat Penn Yan 1208.

Canandaigua Wins Home Opener

The Canandaigua Braves girls lacrosse team defeated HFL by a score of 22-4 on Tuesday night. This was Canandaigua‘s home opener and they didn’t disappoint jumping on the Cougars early behind Mckenna Davis (5g-5a), Hanna Davis (4g-2a) and Abby Herod (4g-1a) and 17 draw controls. Herod dominated possession on the draw circle which allowed the Braves several opportunities to score. Kohler Nieman and Olivia Schore added 4g each as the Braves offense was on fire. On the defensive end, the Braves aggressive play forced several Cougar turnovers and senior goalie Quinn Tallman only gave up two at the half.
