Post Season Awards

Since the conclusion of the season, we have worked to collect all the Post Season Awards to release at a single time.  As we approach a week out from the State Finals, we have determined that we cannot wait any longer.  Tonight, we posted all the information that we have received and will update the missing data when it is provided.  We have received some requests to update individual personal pages and apologize to those waiting to see their records updated.

Final Day of the Regular Season

The final three games were played with Thomas over Hilton 10-7 coming as the closest contest.  The other two scores were Livonia over Gates Chili 16-2 and Eastridge over Gananda 11-5.

There were two games played tonight with Pal-Mac defeating CC 18-8 and Mercy defeating Livonia 16-7.

Eastridge Fights Back in OT Win

Eastridge scored the last seven goals of the game to defeat Livonia 10-9 in the first overtime period.  The Lancers trailed 9-3 with 19:47 remaining in regulation before slowly coming back into the game in the final twenty minutes.  The Bulldogs controlled the early part of the game both in score and in the pace of the contest before the Lancers started their scoring streak.

Friday Night Games

There were five games played tonight.  The closest matchup was Mynderse-Romulus over Wayne 8-7.  Additional scores were more one sides with Aquinas defeating Livonia 15-10, Penn Yan defeating Geneva 13-3, Pal-Mac defeating Newark-Midlakes 15-2 and Schroeder defeating Waterloo 17-4.

Biggest Night of the Year with Six Games

Moving into the next couple weeks, we will see a lot more than six games a night; however, tonight is the current champion with six contests.  The closest match-up was Baldwinsville's 6-5 overtime win over Brighton.  Churchville-Chili also won a single goal game with their 7-6 win over Greece Storm.  The remaining games were Eastridge over Gananda 10-3, Mercy over Mt. St. Mary 21-7, Mynderse-Romulus over Aquinas 16-3 and Pal-Mac over Livonia 16-2.

Newark Scores Five Unanswered in Win

Newark scored five unanswered goals to turn the tide in their 10-7 win over Livonia.  The Reds led 9-3 at the largest lead, before Livonia scored four of the last five to pull within three.  Newark was led in scoring by Caitlin Chopan (3g-1a) and Claire DeBoover (1g-3a).  The Reds outshot the Bulldogs 24-15 and although Livonia goalie Emily Carr had a strong game with 9 saves, it was not enough for the Bulldogs.

Opening Day of 2018

The first three games of the season were played today in Section Five.  Canandaigua defeated Churchville-Chili 17-4, Aquinas defeated Mynderse-Romulus 11-6 and Livonia defeated Wayne 9-8.

Big Night of Games for Wednesday

There were 12 games tonight as teams attempt to make-up matches that were cancelled due to weather earlier in the season.  The closest match-up was HFL defeating Canandaigua 14-13.  The remaining games included, Thomas over Ath/Ody 15-4, Mercy over Geneva 18-10, Penfield over Victor 10-3, Brockport over Eastridge 15-3, Churchville-Chili over Schroeder 10-5, Hilton over Gates Chili 11-2, Livonia over Midlakes 15-9, R-H over Fairport 6-2, Pittsford over Spencerport 17-5, Arc/Oly over East Rochester 11-5 and Brighton over Irondequoit 7-2.

Geneva Wins First Game of the Season

Geneva held off the late advances by Livonia to defeat the Bulldogs 11-10.  This is the first win of the season for Geneva (1-4) and the first loss for Livonia (4-1).  Both teams played a strong game with standout plays on both offense and defense.  Overall, the game was close throughout and it was either teams to win.

Three More Games on Thursday

There were three more games today with two out of Section contests and one intra-section matchup.  Both Victor and Pittsford defeated their out of town opponents and Livonia won at home.  Victor defeated Baldwin School 12-8, Pittsford defeated Scarsdale 11-5 and Livonia defeated Wayne 7-4.

Garrett and Schillinger Lead the Royal Comets to Victory

Rush-Henrietta scored the first five goals to lead 5-0 on their way to a 16-6 win over Livonia.  The Royal Comets controlled the pace of the entire game, although there were stand out performances from both teams during the contest.
