All Greater Rochester 2017

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

Finger Lakes End of Season Awards 2017

Finger Lakes end of season awards come in with 25 First and 24 Second Team All County Players.  There are also 20 Honorable Mention Players.  In addition, there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans.  As well as Defense Player of the Year, a Midfield Player of the Year and an Attack Player of the Year.

Geneva Scores 10 Straight in Win

Geneva scored 10 unanswered goals in their 14-6 win over Eastridge.  This was the first time since before 2005 that the Panthers and Lancers have faced.  Audra Burrall had a great game between the pipes and recorded 9 saves for Geneva.  Offensively, Lauren DeVaney finished with 5g-2a to lead the Panthers.

Geneva Wins Third Straight

After falling to 0-4 to start the season, Geneva has won the last three.  Much like their first win over Livonia (HERE), the Panthers fought back from a deficit to secure the one goal win.  Geneva defeated Wayne 9-8 after trailing for a large portion of the second half.

Geneva Wins First Game of the Season

Geneva held off the late advances by Livonia to defeat the Bulldogs 11-10.  This is the first win of the season for Geneva (1-4) and the first loss for Livonia (4-1).  Both teams played a strong game with standout plays on both offense and defense.  Overall, the game was close throughout and it was either teams to win.

Six Games on Thursday

There were six more games played today.  Newark defeated Gates Chili 6-5 in the closest contest of the night.  Other games were Pal-Mac defeated Geneva 17-4, Marcus Whitman defeated Greece Ath/Ody 15-6, Fairport defeated Schroeder 16-4, HFL defeated Spencerport 17-10 and Hilton defeated Churchville-Chili 12-8.

All Five Games Won By At Least 10 Points

Tonight's contests were all one sided with Geneva, Marcus Whitman, Penn Yan, Waterloo and Pal-Mac all winning by at least 10 points.  The biggest scorer of the night was Alicia Reuscher from Geneva.
