2025-04-11 — Irondequoit defeated Colonie Central 9-3 in a non-league lacrosse game held Friday evening. The Eagles established control early, leading 6-1 at halftime. Lucy Whipple and Lila Velepec had three goals each. Eighth-grader Kate Bottiglier scored her first varsity goal. Grace Bottiglier added a goal and an assist, and Ellie Bottiglier scored once to round out the offense. Senior goalie Emma Francis recorded six saves in 36 minutes, including her 200th career save. Sophomore Mia Conine was no less solid in goal, posting three saves in 12 minutes.
The Eagles improve to 3-0 and will face Mercy on Monday. Colonie Central (section II), now 3-2, will visit Schroeder on Saturday morning. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
