Only Two Undefeated Teams Remains

Brighton defeated Pittsford 8-6 to remain undefeated at 7-0; the Panthers fell to 7-1.  Last night, Aquinas won another to improve to 8-0.  Additional games today included, Geneva over Newark 14-10, Marcus Whitman over Gananda 14-5, Wayne over Midlakes 11-9 and Waterloo over Penn Yan 11-7.

Geneva won their fourth game in a row to increase to 4-4 with a 14-10 win over Newark.  The Panthers scored 11 goals in the first half. Treasure Bruce (3g-2a) and Lauren DeVaney (2g-3a) led in scoring.  Lily Sellers finished with 8 draw controls and 7 groundballs for the Panthers.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a close first half, Marcus Whitman exploded in the second half to defeat Gananda 14-5.  The Blue Panthers led 4-3 at halftime before the Wildcats scored 11 in the second half.  Jenna Ginsberg finished with 3g for Gananda.  She also led in draw controls with 6.  Mikayla Sengle led in groundballs with 6.  For the Wildcats, Emily Thompson finished with 6 draw controls.  She also recorded 3g-2a.  Additional stats are HERE.

Wayne scored the opening goal and the game was only tied once in their 11-9 win over Midlakes.  The Screaming Eagles tied the game up at 8-8 late in second, but Wayne pulled back ahead to secure the win.  For Midlakes Alaina Forbes finished with 4g-2a and 7 draw controls.  Mary Panepento recorded 5g for Wayne.  She also recorded 8 draw controls, 9 groundballs and 3 caused turnovers.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a tied score at the half (5-5), Waterloo scored six more to defeat Penn Yan 11-7.  Emily Smith recorded 3g-3a to lead the Indians.  Sam Barnhart led in draw controls with 7.  Additional stats are HERE.
