Thursday Finishes with Six Games

Six more games were played tonight.  The closest match-up was two five goal games in Brockport over Gates Chili 12-7 and Canandaigua over Penfield 11-6.  Additionally, Wayne defeated East Rochester 13-7, Aquinas defeated Geneva 19-9, Brighton defeated Mercy 16-6 and Mynderse defeated Livonia 15-5.

Wayne took over in the second half in their 13-7 win over East Rochester.  The first half featured four games changes as the teams battled to lead.  Wayne scored three goals straight to take the first two goal lead and the game never tied again.  The Eagles scored six of the last seven goals to secure the win.  For East Rochester, Madilynn Walsh led with 4g.  She also recorded 4 draw controls and 4 groundballs.  For Wayne, Mary Panepento recorded 4g-1a to lead.  She also led in groundballs with 8.  Bailey Jenkins led in draw controls with 5 and recorded another 7 groundballs.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a close first half, Brockport scored the first five goals of the second half to defeat Gates Chili 12-7.  The Blue Devils led 11-4 halfway through the second half.  Emma Moulton led in scoring with 4g-3a and Leah Daly added another 4g-1a.  Moulton (7) and Daly (6) also led in draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

Brighton led 9-2 at the half on their way to a 16-6 win over Mercy to continue their undefeated season.  Kathryn Smolensky led her team again with 6g.  Sophomore Piper Davis led in draw controls with 6 and Smolensky recorded 3 caused turnovers in the win.  Additional stats are HERE.

Aquinas defeated Geneva 19-9 after scoring 15 goals in the first half.  Lindsey Brinkel recorded 7g-2a and Alana Piano finished with 4g-4a.  Piano also led in draw controls with 8.  Junior defenseman Brigid Flaherty added another 4 draw controls for the Little Irish.  Additional stats are HERE.

Mynderse increased to 7-3 with their 15-5 win over Livonia.  The Blue Devils were led in scoring by a trio of girls.  Sophomore Mary Doell (2g-3a) and seniors Sadie Mapstone (4g-1a) and Mykenzie Turner (5a) each recorded five points.  Midfielder Sarah Shaffer led in groundballs with five and Mapstone led in draw controls with 4.  Additional stats are HERE.
