Wednesday - BK, CA and Pittsford Win

There were finally some close and exciting games played today. BK won their first game of the season. Canandaigua had an 8-7 win over Irondequoit and Pittsford had a 7-6 win over R-H.

LIVONIA-AVON 7 - BISHOP KEARNEY 8 - Bishop Kearney celebrated their first victor of the season tonight, by dropping Livonia-Avon 8-7 in Livonia this evening.  No book was submitted for the victorious Kings, however Livonia-Avon was led by Junior, Kylie Buckley, who scored 4 goals and caused 4 turnovers to keep Livonia-Avon close.  Mia Martucio came up with 9 big saves for Livonia Avon as well, and Eight-grader Sidney Clickner scored 2 goals, won 4 Draw Controls, scooped 4 GB’s and caused 2 turnovers.

Penn Yan and WaterlooSCHROEDER 9 - BRIGHTON 19 - Brighton secured their 8th win of the season, improving their record to 8-1 by landing a 10-goal victory over Webster-Schroeder by a score of 19-9.  Brighton opened up their offense early with a 14 goal first half explosion and cruised to victory through a more evenly played 2nd half.  No book was submitted for either team at time of post.      [BOXSCORE]

GATES CHILI 6 - BROCKPORT 17 -  Brockport exerted their dominance over Gates Chili 17-6.  The win improves Brockport to 4-6, and the loss drops Gates-Cili to 1-7.  No book was submitted fr either team at time of post.    [BOXSCORE]

IRONDEQUOIT 7 - CANANDAIGUA 8 - Longtime class B rivals battled to a hotly contested 1 goal game tonight in Irondequoit, where the Canandaigua Braves narrowly defeated Irondequoit by a score of 8-7.  Canandaigua took a 5-2 lead int the half behind strong performances from the Schorr sisters as Junior, Liv Schorr (2g) scored 2 goals, and 8th grader Lola Schorr (1g-1a) notched all of their points for the evening.  Irondequoit fought back in the 2nd half and nearly tied the game late, however the Braves held on with 3 second half goals by Hanna Davis (4g).  Koehler Nieman added a goal and an assist for the Braves, while Abbey Herod (1a) dominated the draw circle all night with 10 Draw Controls.  Maeve Brennan and Evan Terzioglu each scored 2 goals for Irondequoit to lead their valiant effort.  Maggie Cross turned away 6 of Irondequoit’s shots and came up with clutch saves in big moments.     [BOXSCORE]

Penn Yan and WaterlooMYNDERSE-ROMULUS 3 - WATERLOO 14 - Waterloo travelled to Mynderse-Romulus tonight and handed the Blue Devils a convincing 14-3 beating.  Natalie DiSanto (4g-2a) went off for 6 points, while Esabella Bourne (3g-1a), Kristine DeWall (2g-1a), Marissa Russell (2g) and Maci Mueller (3g) also had productive nights.  Haley Mosch (2g), and Amelia Reese (2a) each had 2-point performances for Mynderse-Romulus.     [BOXSCORE]

SPENCERPORT 13 - CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 6 - Playing at home, Spencerport more than doubled up Churchville-Chili tonight, 13-6.  This was Spencerport’s 3rd win of the year.  Livia Fedele (3g-2a) and Molly Guzik (3g-2a) posted impressive identical 5 goal lines for Spencerport, while Ruby DePalma (2g-1a) also came away with a multi-point performance.  Kayla Ferrigno saved 7 shots for Spencerport, Molly Guzik won 7 Draw controls, and fellow Sophomore Alyssa Nichols also won 4 Draw Controls and caused 2 turnovers, earning extra possessions for the Rangers.  No book was submitted for Churchville-Chili at time of post.     [BOXSCORE]  There are also some game photos available

EASTRIDGE 6 - HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA 18 - HF-L (6-5) climber above 0.500 tonight by pummeling Eastridge 18-6.  Eastridge’s Melody Gaudio had a busy night, as HFL peppered the cage all night and Gaudio was able to come up with 11 saves.  Nicole Hetzer (3g), and Skye Gaudio (2g) Led Eastridge in a losing effort, while Freshman Ada Krupa was a key contributor for Eastridge between the lines with 5 Draw Controls, 3 GB’s and 4 Caused Turnovers.  The Cougars dominance on the draw circle enabled them to keep the fate of the game in their hands. Marlee Green led the team with five draw controls. The Cougars had seven different scorers with standout performances on the offensive side of the field by Jenna Bovenzi (4 goals) and Whitley Easton (5 goals). Cougar goalie Lilian Brady was the backbone of the defense with six saves. The Lady Cougars will host a tough Mercy team this Saturday, 5/7 at 5 pm.     [BOXSCORE]

FAIRPORT 20 - GREECE STORM 3 - Fairport (6-5) cruised to a 20-3 win over Greece Storm.  Katie Mallaber (5g), Morgan Wrobbel (4g/3a), and Ellie Miller (4g) provided the bulk of the scoring for the Red Raiders.  Lily Kondas (7dc) and Ava Peers (6dc) helped Fairport control the center circle.  Erica Savage picked up two goals for the Storm, who host Pittsford Saturday afternoon.  Fairport will face off against Aquinas on Saturday.      [BOXSCORE]

Penn Yan and WaterlooHILTON 1 - VICTOR 20 - Victor (11-1) won its sixth in a row, trouncing Hilton, 20-1.  Hilton falls to 3-9.  The Blue Devils host Spencerport Friday night.  The Cadets face off against Penfield on Monday.  There were no statistics reported from either team at post time.     [BOXSCORE]

THOMAS 7 - PENFIELD 16 - Penfield defeated Thomas, 16-7.  Both teams next play on Monday night, with Penfield traveling to Hilton and Thomas hosting Churchville-Chili.  There were no statistics reported from either team at post time.     [BOXSCORE]

GANANDA-MARION 0 - PAL-MAC 18 -  Pal-Mac improved to 8-3 with an 18-0 win over Gananda-Marion.  Goalie Faith Beals pitched the shutout for the Red Raiders, who featured scoring from 10 players, including Kylie Waeghe (4g/2a) and Reagan Diehl (3g/1a).  Pal-Mac visits Eastridge on Friday.  Gananda-Marion, which remains winless on the season, has a game Monday against Waterloo.   There were no statistics reported from Gananda-Marion at post time.    [BOXSCORE]

PITTSFORD 7 - RUSH-HENRIETTA 6 - In a clash between the top two class A teams, Pittsford (10-3) emerged victorious, defeating Rush-Henrietta by a score of 7-6.  It was the Royal Comets’ first loss of the season.  Lena Cox and Megan Schillinger each had two goals for Rush-Henrietta.  The Panthers will square off against Greece Storm on Saturday.  Rush-Henrietta faces another stiff challenge on Monday, this time against Canandaigua.  There were no statistics reported from Pittsford at post time.     [BOXSCORE]

Penn Yan and WaterlooMARCUS WHITMAN 3 - PENN YAN 16 - Penn Yan built a 8-1 halftime lead and coasted to a 16-3 victory over Marcus Whitman.  The Mustangs featured outstanding goaltending from both Hannah Parsons (4s) and Marion Wheeler (5s).  On the other end of the field, Corinne Barden (4g/1a), Bailey Cooper (3g/4a), and Kaley Griffin (5g/1a) spearheaded the attack.  The Wildcats were led by Catherine Bootes (8gb/1ct), Lily Morse (1g/5dc/5gb), and Helen Snyder (6dc/1gb).  Penn Yan travels to Horseheads for a non-league tilt on Friday.  Marcus Whitman visits Wayne on Monday.     [BOXSCORE]

NEWARK-MIDLAKES 16 - WAYNE 8 - Newark-Midlakes improved its record to 5-4, defeating Wayne, 16-8.  Stella Del Papa (4g/4a), Jenna Havert (4g/2a), and Kate Mahoney (4g) were the top scorers for the Reds.  Stella Del Papa also gathered six draw controls and three ground balls.  Newark-Midlakes hosts Bishop Kearney Saturday evening.  There were no statistics reported from Wayne at post time.     [BOXSCORE]
