Out-Bracket Games

Out-Bracket games will be played over the next two days.  There are 10 total out-bracket games with five in each Class B and Class C.  Four of the games are scheduled for Friday and six are scheduled for Saturday.  This story will be updated tomorrow as more games are reported.

 

CLASS B:

Five out-bracket games are scheduled for the Class B Tournament.  The #1 seed (Spencerport), #2 seed (Victor) and #3 seed (Brighton) all have byes in the first round.

#4 Irondequoit vs. #13 Eastridge:

The first of the Friday match-ups.  Irondequoit defeated Eastridge 16-2.  The Eagles have won 11 straight match-ups against their inter-town rivals.  Kiersten Pease (2g-4a) and Annie Brennan (4g-1a) led in scoring for the Eagles. Additional stats are HERE.

#5 Thomas vs. #12 Gates-Chili:

Another Friday night match-up.  Thomas defeated Gates-Chili 16-1.  The Titans scored 12 goals in the first half.  They had 12 players make their offensive book with 10 players scoring a single goal.  Junior Emily Glagolev finished with 3g and junior Nicole Voci finished with 4g-3a.  Additional stats are HERE.

#6 Canandaigua vs. #11 Greece Ath/Ody:

Canandaigua scored 13 goals in the first half on thier way to a 17-3 win over Ath/Ody.  Peyton Smith (1g-6a) led in scoring with Natalie Gwynn adding 4g-1a.  Seanna Beikirch and Chloe Agostinelli both finished with 1g-1a for the Thunder.  Additional stats are HERE.

#7 Hilton vs. #10 Greece Arc/Oly:

The third Class B match from Friday night.  Hilton defeated Arc/Oly 19-6. Rachel Ryan was the big scorer for the Cadets with 7g.  Payton Cook added 1g-4a and Amanda Hilderbrandt added 3g-2a.  Madison Corcoran (3g) led in scoring for the Lightning.  Additional stats are HERE.

#8 Churchville-Chili vs. #9 Brockport:

Churchville-Chili won their third straight match-up and five of their last six.  The Saints defeated Brockport 9-3.  With the win, the Saints evened out their History vs. Brockport at 10-10.  Leading in scoring for Brockport was Leah Daly (1g-1a).  Additonal stats will be updated HERE.

After all five games:

All four quarter final games will be played on Tuesday May 24th.  #4 Irondequoit will host #5 Thomas and #2 Victor will host #7 Hilton.  #1 Spencerport will host #8 Churchville-Chili and #3 Brighton will host #6 Canandigua.  The top 8 seeds will move on to the quarter finals.

 

CLASS C:

Five out-bracket games are scheduled for the Class C Tournament.  The #1 seed (Pal-Mac), #2 seed (HFL) and #3 seed (Penn Yan) all have byes in the first round.

#4 Waterloo vs. #5 Newark:

The final Friday contest.  Waterloo defeated Newark 17-2.  The Indians have won 16 straight matches against the Red.  Logan Castiglione (4g-3a) and Alberta Eshenour (2g-5a) led in scoring for the Indians.  Additional stats are HERE.

#5 Aquinas vs. #12 Midlakes:

Aquinas defeated Midlakes 20-7.  This is only the third time they have defeated the Screaming Eagles.  Erica Knapp led in scoring with 6g-2a for the Little Irish. Additional stats are HERE.

#6 Geneva vs. #11 Livonia:

Geneva defeated Livonia 14-5. This was the second time this season that the Panthers defeated the Bulldogs.  Livonia has not defeated Geneva since 2009.  Ali Turner led in scoring with 6g-3a for the Panthers.  Additional stats will be updated HERE

#7 Marcus Whitman vs. #10 Gananda:

Marcus Whitman defeated Gananda 14-6.  Emily Thompson (6g-1a) led in scoring for the Wildcats.  Allison Stark (1g-1a) and Jordan Cunningham (1g-1a) led for the Blue Panthers.  GLaxFive had a reporter at the game and the full story is HERE.

#8 Mynderse vs. #9 Wayne:

In the closest game of the tournament so far.  Mynderse defeated Wayne 6-5.  The Eagles defeated the Blue Devils by two earlier in the season.  Mynderse scored three unanswered by Saide Mapstone to lead by three halfway through the second half.  Additional stats are HERE.

After all five games:

#1 Pal-Mac will host #8 Mynderse and #2 HFL will host #7 Marcus Whitman.  #3 Penn Yan will host #6 Geneva.  #4 Waterloo will host #5 Aquinas.
