GLaxFive.NET has rolled out its most significant redesign since launch, a cleaner, faster, mobile-first experience built to keep pace with a fan base that's grown far beyond anyone's early expectations.
The site launched in 2015, but it didn't come out of nowhere. It grew out of years of groundwork laid on BLaxFive.NET, which had already built a loyal following covering the boys of Section V since 2000. 
Rather than let that same level of coverage and community-building pass the girls' game by, the site's founder decided it was time to give Section V's girls' programs a home of their own.
Kyle Barrett Wilson, a longtime fixture of Section V lacrosse coverage who spent years behind the scenes on the boys' site before turning his attention to launching GLaxFive.NET as a passion project started building the code that would produce the player pages, writing recaps, and chasing stats after games. Although his involvedment has been reduced in the last three years, GLaxFive.NET has become one of the most trusted independent sources for Section V girls' lacrosse. For the last four years, the daily reports have been written by Russ Karpp, who also watches over the in-season content.
Nearly ten years in, the site's footprint speaks for itself: over 3,600 individual player pages, giving athletes across Section V a permanent, searchable record of their careers, and over 1,300 stories published, covering everything from regular-season recaps to sectional title runs. 
Last season alone the site saw more than 600,000 page views from more than 24,000 unique visitors, numbers that rival coverage typically reserved for much larger media outlets. For a site built and maintained as a volunteer project, those figures represent something rare: a genuine community resource, sustained by a commitment to making sure Section V's girls' lacrosse players get the recognition they've earned.
The redesign focuses on the experience readers and players actually use most: a modernized, mobile-first layout built for fans checking scores and stats from the sideline, streamlined player profiles that make it easier to browse a career's worth of stats and stories in one place, faster navigation between team pages, standings, and story archives, and a refreshed visual identity that carries the same GLaxFive spirit into a cleaner, more current design.
