Big Day of Games on Wednesday

There were nine games tonight in Section Five.  The closest matchup was Schroeder's 12-10 win over Hilton.  Mynderse-Romulus defeated Newark-Midlakes by 3 (9-6) and Mercy defeated Pal-Mac by 4 (13-9).  The remaining scores were Brighton over Victor 13-5, Irondequoit over Churchville-Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 15-3, Gananda over Jordan-Elbridge 14-5, Thomas over Brockport 12- and Penfield over HFL 13-3.

Mynderse-Romulus and Newark-Midlakes played a close game with the Blue Devils winning 9-6.  The game was 5-4 (Mynderse-Romulus) at halftime.  Between both teams, 11 players made their respective offensive scorebooks.  Sadie Bonetti led the Blue Devils with 3g-1a while the Reds had their scoring more spread out.  Four of the five players to make the offensive scorebook finished with 2 points.  Grace Gajan and Cara Walker finished with 2g each and Alycia Divelbliss and Caitlin Chopan finished with 1g-1a each.  Defensively, Caitlyn Korzeniewski led the Blue Devils with 5 draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a back and forth first half, Schroeder pulled away in the second half to secure a 12-10 win over Hilton.  The Warriors score six of the first seven goals in the second half to increase their halftime lead (6-5) to 12-6 with 7:55 remaining.  Hilton fought back with the final four goals of the contest but it wasn't enough.  In the cage for Schroeder, Jorden Concordia finished with 7 saves.  Offensively, Annie Mulhall led with 5g-1a.  She also recorded 7 draw controls.  Haley Bolton finished with 8 to lead the Warriors.  Additional stats are HERE.

Brighton scored 11 goals in the first half in their 13-5 win over Victor.  The Barons were led by three different players with three points each: Katie Lederman (2g-1a), Delaney McManus (2g-1a) and Rae Strazdins (3g).  Piper Davis led in draw controls with 3 and Lederman led in groundballs with 4.  Additional stats can be found HERE.

Irondequoit defeated Churchville-Chili 16-4.  Leading in scoring for the Eagles was Marina Butler with 3g-3a.  Maeve Brennan added 3g-2a.  Erika Sherwood led in draw controls with 6 and Kennedi Landrigan led in ground balls with five.  Additional stats are HERE.

Greece Strom defeated Eastridge 15-3 with Kelsey Nugent (4g-2a) and Makenna Misiurewicz (1g-5a) leading in scoring.  The Storm also had 3 players with 4 draw controls each (Jazmine Darling, Alison Dioguardi and Angelina Soeffing).  Soeffing also led in groundballs (5) and caused turnovers (3).  Additional stats are HERE.

Gananda scored the first goal and never tied or trailed in their 14-5 win over Jordan Elbridge.  Peyton Daeffler (3g-4a) and Sydney Buchko (7g) led for the Blue Panthers.  Buchko also dominated at the draw with 14 recorded draw controls and 6 groundballs.  Lindsey Wunder also recorded six ground balls.  Additional stats are HERE.

Penfield went up to a 10-2 lead at halftime on their way to a 13-3 win over HFL tonight.  The Patriots were led by Lucy Rugaber (5g-2a) and Morgan Cox (2g-4a).  Shannon Burdick (3) led in draw controls and Nina Nesselbush led in groundballs (5).  Additional stats are HERE.
