Victor Set to Return to NYS Class B Finals

Victor earned its fourth consecutive trip to the NYS class B finals with a decisive 17-3 win over Columbia (Section II) Friday at SUNY Cortland. The Blue Devils took an 8-0 first-period lead and were never threatened. For Columbia, an Albany-area school which won its first-ever sectional title this year, it was an anticlimactic end to an otherwise successful season.

Leading the attack for the Blue Devils was a quartet of three-goal scorers--Morgan Livingston (3g/3a), Allie Pisano (3g/1a), Julia Bruno (3g/1a), and Gianna Hedden (3g). Camryn Adrid added two goals, Maia Pronti had four assists, and Lila Kubrich won a team-high seven draw controls.

With the win, the Blue Devils advance to the final game, where they hope to win their fourth straight NYS class B title but face a difficult opponent in traditional powerhouse Garden City (Section VIII). The game will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. at SUNY Cortland.    [ Story and BOX SCORE
