The 2017 State Classifications have been announced.  In 2017, the stat will move from three class (A, B, C) to four classes (A, B, C, D).  The classifications are based on the state BEDS numbers.  Which is calculated based on the number of students in the district.  Additionally, there are formula used for schools that are a single gender or a combined school district.  Lastly one team (Pittsford) has chosen to move up to Class A from Class B.

Class B 790-1074
Class C 475-789
Class D 474 and below.

Class C: 6 Teams
Class D: 10 Teams
