Victor Holds Off Penfield in Close Matchup
In a battle of section V titans, Victor rallied late for an 11-10 win over Penfield in a Monroe County game on Wednesday night. Julia Bruno scored the winning goal with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter. It was the first lead that the Blue Devils held in a game that was tied no fewer than seven times.
For Victor (9-1), Julia Bruno led the offense with five goals. Camryn Adrid and Allie Pisano each had two goals and one assist. Carlina DiFondi recorded seven draw controls.
The Patriots' attack was fueled by Whitney Reynolds (4g/2a), Jenna Capozzi (2g/3a), and Emma Alexander (2g). Peyton Rothfuss, face-guarded throughout the game, contributed with nine draw controls. Karis Hand made 10 saves. Penfield is now 8-3 on the season.
