In a contest between defending State champions, CNS (class A) defeated Victor (class B) 14-10 in a non-league matchup on Saturday. It was the fourth victory this season for CNS (section III) over top section V competition.

CNS was led by Gabrielle Putman and Elizabeth Smith, who each netted four goals. Sophia Nesci provided both scoring and playmaking with three goals and three assists. Goaltender Jillian Howell made nine saves to help secure the win.

The Blue Devils kept the game close with strong performances from Allie Pisano, who scored three goals, and Morgan Livingston, who contributed two goals and one assist. McKenna Anderson added two goals, while Camryn Adrid, Julia Bruno, and Lila Kubrich each recorded one. Maia Pronti assisted on three of the goals.

With the loss, Victor’s record falls to 9-2, while CNS improves to 12-1. Victor will look to regroup when they face Thomas on Tuesday.    [ Story and BOX SCORE]
