Semi-Final Match-ups

The Semi-Final match-ups will be played over the next two days.  The Class A games will played on May 26th at HF-L.  The Class B game will be played on May 27th at Pittsford Sutherland.  The Class C games will be played on May 27th at Victor.

CLASS A:

The #1 seed Pittsford and #2 seed Fairport will final play games this round.  Their match-ups will be the first play on Thursday in a double header at HF-L.  The top seeded Panthers will play at 5:00 and the second seeded Red Raiders will play at 7:00.

#1 Pittsford vs. #5 Schroeder:

After an exciting win over #4 seeded Penfield, the Warriors move on to the Semi-Finals.  The Panthers and Warriors played during the regular season with Pittsford winning 13-6.  Schroeder has not defeated the Pittsford in the last 10 years, the Panthers are 18-0 historically.  

Top seed Pittsford scored the first goal and never trailed in thier 17-4 win over #5 seeded Schroeder.  Maddison Bell was a part of all four goals for the Warriors (1g-3a).  Megan Plain led in scoring for Pittsford with 6g-1a. GLaxFive had a reporter at the game.  The full story is HERE.

#2 Fairport vs. #3 Rush-Henrietta:

RH defeated #6 seeded Mercy to make the Semi-Finals.  The Red Raiders and the Royal Comets faced in the regular season with Fairport scoring six of the last seven goals to come back from behind and win 13-11.  Historically, the teams are neck and neck with Fairport a slight 11-10 leader.  

#2 seeded Fairport defeated #3 seeded R-H 9-5.  Maddie Howe led in scoring for Fairport with 4g-1a. Sophomore Jenna Brill (2g-1a) led in scoring for RH.  GlaxFive had a reporter at the game.  The full story is HERE.

 

CLASS B:

The Class B Semi-Final match-ups are also a double header.  The games will be played on May 27th at Pittsford Sutherland.  The top seed, Spencerport, will play first at 5:00 and the second seed, Victor, will play at 7:00.

#1 Spencerport vs. #5 Thomas:

Spencerport defeated #8 seed Churchville-Chili 4-3 to secure their spot in the Semi-Finals.  The Saints came on the strong in the second half of the season, but the Rangers finished the regular season 15-1 and look to go deep into the tournament.  Thomas scored in double overtime to defeat the #4 seeded Irondequoit 10-9.  The Rangers and Titans did not face during the regular season, they last faced in 2014 when Thomas won 15-3.  Historically, the Rangers have never defeated the Titans.  

Spencerport scored the opening goal and although Thomas kept the game close throughout, the Rangers never trailed in their 9-6 win.  This was the first time that Spencerport defeated Webster Thomas.  They were led in scoring by Erin Coykendall (1g-3a) and Emily Coykendall (2g-2a).  Additional stats are HERE.

#2 Victor vs. #3 Brighton:

Victor defeated #7 seed, Hilton, 22-8 to secure their spot in the Semi-Finals.  Brighton defeated #6 seed, Canandaigua, 11-4 to secure their spot.  The Blue Devils and the Barons played during the regular season with Victor winning 17-7 on May 12th.  Although Brighton has the historically advantage 12-5, the Blue Devils have won the last four match-ups and have not lost to the Barons since 2013.  

Victor took a 6-3 lead at halftime and secured an 11-9 win over Brighton.  The Barons fought back in the second half and outscored the Blue Devils 6-5.  Leading in scoring for Victor was Kaci Messier (4g-3a).   Additional stats are HERE.

  

CLASS C:

The Class C Semi-Final match-ups are also a double header.  The games will be played on May 27th at Victor.  The top seed, Pal-Mac, will play first at 5:00 and the second seed, HF-L, will play at 7:00.

#1 Pal-Mac vs. #4 Waterloo:

Pal-Mac won their quarter final match-up against #8 Mynderse 20-4 to secure their spot in the semis.  Waterloo had a closer match against #5 Aquinas, but defeated the Little Irish 7-6.  The Red Raiders defeated the Indians 16-6 during the regular season.  

Pal-Mac defeated Waterloo 12-2.  The Red Raiders had eight players make their offensive scorebook.  Leading the charge were Aldyn Savage and Anna Leva with 3g-1a each. The Indians had two different girls scored their goals with Emily Smith and Keira O`Connor scoring one each.  Additional stats are HERE.

#2 HFL vs. #3 Penn Yan:

HFL defeated #7 seed, Marcus Whitman, 17-2 on Tuesday.  Penn Yan played a closer game against #6 Geneva but still walked away with the 13-12 overtime victory over the Panthers.  The Cougars and the Mustangs did not played during the regular season.  HFL has won 6 of the last 7 contests they have played.  

HFL defeated Penn Yan 14-7.  Caitlin Muir finished with 5g-3a and Brittany Chamberlain added 3g-2a and 8 draw controls. Additional stats are HERE.
