The final two days of Section Five lacrosse are upon us with the Sectional Titles being decided over the next two days.  The Class A Finals will be #1 seeded Pittsford vs. #2 seeded Fairport.  The Class B Finals will be #1 seeded Spencerport vs. #2 seeded Victor.  The Class C Finals will be #1 seeded Pal-Mac vs. #2 seeded HFL.  Class A Finals will be played on May 31st at St. John Fisher College in a Boys/Girls double header.  Class B and Class C Finals will be played on June 1st at Pittsford Sutherland.

Class A:

The Class A Finals will be played on Tuesday May 31st in a Boys/Girls double header at St. John Fisher.  The Girls will play the opening game at 5:00 and will be followed at 7:00 by #1 seeded Victor against #2 seeded Pittsford in the Boy's match-up.  The Panthers and Red Raiders have played 24 times over the past 11 seasons with Pittsford leading the series 16-6.  The Panthers have won the last 13 times with Fairport's last win coming in 2009.  Earlier this season, Pittsford won 13-7 over the Red Raiders.

Pittsford scored the first goal and never trailed in their 11-6 win over Fairport.  This is Pittsford's third straight Section Five Title.  Maddie Miller finished with 3g-2a and was named the All Tournament MVP.  The full story is HERE.

Pittsford will continue on to play the Class A Champion from Section VI (Lancaster) at 3:00 PM on Saturday at Pittsford Sutherland.

Class B:

The Class B Finals will be played on Wednesday June 1st in a Class B/C double header at Pittsford Sutherland.  The Class B Finals will be played first at 5:00.  Victor and Spencerport have only faced off twice in the last 11 seasons with the Blue Devils winning both contests.  The Rangers are coming into the finals with only a single loss on the season (in overtime).

Second seeded Victor won their 3rd straight Section Five Championship with a 18-12 win over Spencerport.  The Blue Devils were led in scoring by Emily Hawryschuk with 6g-1a.  Hawryschuk was named the All Tournament Class B MVP.  Erin Coykendall led in scoring for Spencerport with 3g-2a.  Additional stats are HERE.

Victor will continue on to play the Class B Champion from Section VI (Hamburg) on Saturday at 5:00 PM at Pittsford Sutherland.

Class C:

The Class C Finals will be played on Wednesday June 1st in a Class B/C double header at Pittsford Sutherland.  The Class C Finals will be played second at 7:00.  HFL and Pal-Mac have only faced three times in the past 11 season with HFL winning all three times.  The Red Raiders are currently 16-2 with their only losses coming against Irondequoit and Penfield (both by a single goal).  The Cougars defeated both Penfield (in overtime) and Irondequoit (by 2) earlier in the season.  There were no other joint opponents during the regular season.

Second seeded HFL won their fifth straight Section Five Class C Title and their 8th in the last 9 years.  Maria Villanti was named the Class C All Tournament MVP.  Scoring is currently unavailbile for the Cougars.  Pal-Mac was led by Aldyn Savage (2g-1a) and Andra Savage (2g).  Additional stats are HERE.

HFL will continue on to play the Class C Champion from Section VI (Lake Shore) at 7:00 PM on Saturday at Pittsford Sutherland.
