Biggest Day of the Season
Eight games were played in Section Five today with seven games reporting on their scores. Aquinas defeated Geneva 16-6, Churchville-Chili defeated Pal-Mac 13-6, South Jefferson defeated HFL 9-5, Penfield defeated Irondequoit 9-6, Spencerport defeated Fairport 11-9, Newark defeated East Rochester 11-8, Mercy defeated Midlakes 15-4. The RH vs. Hamburg score has yet to be reported.
In the closest game of the night, Spencerport scored three of the last four goals to defeat Fairport 11-9. A full story summary can be found HERE.
South Jefferson scored the opening goal and never trailed or tied in their 9-5 win over HFL. A full story summary can be found HERE.
Aquinas led 7-1 going into halftime in their 16-6 win over Geneva. Erica Knapp finished with a team leading 6g. Alan Piano added 4g-1a with 3 draw controls. Lindsey Brinkel led the Little Irish with four draw controls. For Geneva, Kiara Pabon and Megan Kerr each added 2 goals. With Pabon also leading in ground balls (4). Additonal stats are HERE.
Pal-Mac held a 6-3 lead at the half and increase to a 13-6 win. The Red Raiders were led in scoring by Andra Savage (4g-3a) and Anna Leva (3g-1a). Sophomore Emma Arnold started off the draw controls strong with a team leading four. For Churchville-Chili, Katie Cosgrove led with 3g, 7 draw controls and 3 ground balls. Additional stats are HERE.
Newark scored the opening goal and never trailed in their 11-8 victor over East Rochester. The Reds led 11-3 late in the second half before East Rochester scored the final five goals. Maddilyn Mulcahy and Madilynn Walsh lead added 3 goals for the Bombers. In the cage, Frankie Puglisi recorded nine saves. Additional stats are HERE.
Mercy's Izzy Stockman finished with 5g-2a to lead the Monarchs to their first win of the season over Midlakes 15-4. Sami Carey finished with 2g-3a and both Stockman and Carey recorded 5 draw controls. Additional stats are HERE.
