CA vs. HiltonPeyton Smith finished with 3g-4a for Canandaigua in their 15-3 win over Hilton.  The Braves controlled the majority of the possession time during the contest.  They finished the game with 30 shots while holding the Cadets to only 7.  They also won the groundball count 31-12.

The first goal of the game was scored off an 8m free position shot by Kenzie Lupton.  Less than two minutes later, the Braves scored their second goal off a broken clear with Smith assisting LaRen Blakesley. Hilton’s opening goal was scored with a drive down the middle.  Logan Hibbard veered to the left before planting her foot and switching directions to get the open shot.  Blakesley’s second goal was another free position 8m shot.  Six minutes later and Smith scored her second goal on the crease after she picked up the loose ball and finished into the back of the net.  Payton Cook scored the second goal for the Cadets with a straight drive to the cage.  The two goals were the only non-free position shots in the first quarter (they had one additional free position shot that was saved by Izzy Kenyon).  The Braves kept up their pressure and added two more before the end of the quarter.  Natalie Gwynn assisted Megan Hoffman on the top of the crease and Smith assisted Emma O’Neill with a feed from behind the cage.  Canandaigua led 6-2 going into halftime.

In the second half, Canandaigua outscored the Cadets 9-1.  Two of the nine goals stood out.  The first began with a loose ball pick up by Hoffman that led to fast break goal by Blakesley.  The second was an out of position shovel shot by Hoffman directly on the crease off a feed from Blakesley.  The final Cadet goal was scored with a drive around the back of the crease by Amanda Hilderbrandt.

In the cage for Canandaigua, Kenyon and Cassidy King split halves.  Kenyon recorded 1 save and King recorded 2 saves.  For Hilton, Shaina Doser played the entire game and recorded nine saves.  Eighth grader Sydney Carpenter led her team in draw controls with 3.
