Canandaigua Fights Back in Second Half

Canandaigua came back from trailing by three to defeat Webster Schroeder 11-9.  The Braves scored six unanswered goals to end the first half and start off the second.  Canandaigua scored the first goal of the game with an unassisted goal from Emma O’Neill.  The Warriors responded with three in a row to take the lead.  Payton Lill scored two with Madison Bell scoring the third.  Canandaigua stayed close and tied the game at 3-3 and 4-4.  Webster scored their fifth goal with another unassisted goal from Lill.  0:12 later, Abby Moon scored for the Warriors.  Bell recorded her second assist to Kelsey Nelson with 8:44 remaining in the first half. The Warrior did not score again until 8:44 remained in the second half.

Canandaigua’s LaRen Blakesley scored back to back goals to start the six goal streak.  Megan Hoffman scored the third and Natalie Gwynn scored the next three (all unassisted) to put the Braves on top.  Schroeder scored two goals later in the second half, but could not get any closer than two.  The final goal of the game was scored by Bell.  It was her 100th career goal for the Warriors. In the cage for Webster, Jorden Concordia recorded 7 saves and 3 interceptions.  Payton Lill led her team in draw controls with 8 and groundballs with 5.
