Single Game on Friday

There was only a single game played tonight.  R-H was the first Section Five team to defeat Baldwinsville this season.  The Bees had previous defeated Brighton (HERE) and Penfield (HERE).  The Royal Comets held off a late push by Baldwinsville to defeat the Bees 9-8.

Baldwinsville opened up the scoring with a goal from Hannah Johnson only 0:20 into play.  Johnson scored off a feed from Peyton Fleming.  Fleming was one of two girls for the Bees that finished with 2g-1a.  R-H responded with four unanswered goals to go up 4-1 with 16:00 left in the first half.  Rayea Davis, Courtney Rowe and Kate Mashewske (2) scored for the Royal Comets.  They kept up the pressure through the first half and led 7-5 at halftime.

In the second half, RH scored the first two goals with Davis and Mashewske both adding to their totals.  Baldwinsville never quit and scored the final three goals of the contest.  They pulled within a single goal with less than 10 seconds on the clock; however, they could not force overtime.

Mashewske led in scoring for the Royal Comets with 3g-1a.  She also led in draw controls with six.  Three other girls finished with 3 points: Sarah Sinsebox (2g-1a), Davis (2g-1a) and Gabby Garrett (1g-2a).  In the cage for R-H, Kaila Herring finished at 50% with 8 recorded saves.
