A Couple Close Games on Saturday

There were eight games played tonight.  Pittsford defeated Fayetteville-Manlius 10-7 and Spencerport defeated Lake Short 21-8 in out of Section games.  Schroeder defeated HFL 12-10 in a game at that tied at each step up to 10-10.  Remaining scores included: Penn Yan over Livonia 17-10, Aquinas over Marcus Whitman 14-6, Irondequoit over Brockport 13-4, Canandaigua over Victor 12-6 and Waterloo over Wayne 11-4.

Penn Yan defeated Livonia 17-10. Three Mustangs finished with over seven points: Hannah Keech (5g-3a), Elissa Callaway (7g) and Sydney Bloom (3g-4a).  Bloom also recorded a team leading 14 draw controls, 5 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers to lead in all three categories.  Additional stats are HERE.

Schroeder and HFL played a close game with the score tied at each step up to 10-10.  The Warriors scored the last three goals to win 12-10.  All three goals were scored in the final 2:30.  Madison Bell led in scoring with 1g-5a.  Payton Lill led in goals with 4.  Abby Moon had a strong night at the draw and recorded 5 draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

Pittsford remained undefeated with a 10-7 win over Fayetteville-Manlius.  The Hornets were also undefeated at 10-0 last weekend before losing all three games this week and falling to 10-3.  They attempted a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 5-2; however, it was not enough and Pittsford held on for the win.  Courtney Burke led in scoring with 5g-1a.  Additional stats are HERE.

Spencerport scored first and never trailed in their 21-8 win over Lake Shore.  The Rangers also scored the final nine goals of the game.  Leading in scoring was Erin Coykenall with 2g-8a; included in tonight's contest with Coykendall's 500th career point.  Natalie Choate also finished with 8g-1a for the Rangers.  Additional stats are HERE.

Irondequoit led 7-3 at halftime on their way to a 13-4 win over Brockport.  Eight players made the offensive book for the Eagles with Erika Sherwood leading with 2g-2a and 5 draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a close first half, Canandaigua scored the first five goals of the second half to pull away from Victor.  The Braves defeated the Blue Devils 12-6.  LaRen Blakesley led in scoring for Canandaigua with 5g.  Lexi Braniecki added another 2g-2a and led in draw controls with 4.  Clancy Rheude also recorded 4 draws.  Additional stats are HERE.

Waterloo defeated Wayne 11-4.  Logan Castiglione led in scoring with 4g-3a.  Aubrey O`Brien led in draw controls with 7 and caused turnovers with 4.  Allie Smith and Kenzie Loucks added 3 caused turnovers each.  Additional stats are HERE.
