Ten Games on Thursday Night
There were ten games tonight with the closest coming in Mercy over Thomas 9-8. Remaining scores included, RH over Hilton 19-5, Irondequoit over HFL 8-4, Brighton over Eastridge 17-2, Thomas over Fairport 14-10, Spencerport over Brockport 25-1, Penn Yan over Marcus Whitman 10-5, Pittsford over Greece Storm 12-1 and Canandaigua over Gates Chili 19-1.
Irondequoit and HFL played a close game with the Eagles taking the win 8-4. The Eagles scored the game opener and although HFL tied the game once at 3-3, Irondequoit never trailed. The Eagles scored five of the last six goals to take over from the tie. Bridget Inclema led in scoring with 2g-1a for Irondequoit. Marina Butler and Erika Sherwood each recorded 4 draw controls. Mercy led 5-4 at the half and held off Thomas in the second half to defeat the Titans 9-8. The Monarchs were trailing by one three minutes remaining. Caroline Murphy scored the game tying goal with 2:24 remaining. The game winning goal was scored man-down by Kristyn Johnson. Johnson led in scoring for the Monarchs with 4g-3a. Three different players ended with 3 points for the Titans: Maddie Boddery (3g), Cate Robarge (3a), Abby Quinlan (2g-1a). Additional stats are HERE.
Brighton led 14-1 at halftime in their 17-2 win over Eastridge. Susan Lafountain led in scoring with 4g-1a for the Barons. Katie Lederman led in draw controls with 4 and Eileen Kelly led in ground balls with five. Additional stats are HERE.
Spencerport defeated Brockport 25-1 with Natalie Choate leading in scoring with 5g-5a. Erin Coykendall recorded 3g-6a including her 600th career point. This moved her into 2nd for NYS points and into the #1 career assists for NYS. She also recorded 12 draw controls to lead her team. Additional stats are HERE.
Penn Yan led 6-3 at halftime on their way to a 10-5 win over Marcus Whitman. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Hayley Anderson with 2g-3a. Avery Castner recorded another 2g-2a. Pittsford defeated Greece Storm 12-1. Kelsey Nugent scored the single goal for Greece. Sadie Coachman recorded 10 saves between the pipes. Additional stats are HERE.
