Huge number of Games to Start May

There were fifteen games schedule tonight to open May.  HFL defeated Eastridge 8-7 in overtime in the closest matchup of the night.  Remaining scores included Irondequoit over Mercy 10-8, Marcus Whitman over Aquinas 10-9, Gananda over Geneva 16-10, Pal-Mac over Mynderse-Romulus 15-5, Waterloo over Wayne 13-10, Spencerport over Brighton 11-3, Hilton over Churchville-Chili 15-8, Fairport over Gates-Chili 20-1, Canandaigua over Penfield 11-5, Penn Yan over Newark-Midlakes 12-6, Thomas over Greece Storm 10-3, Pittsford over Schroeder 10-5 and RH over Victor 19-5.

After playing a close 3-3 half, Canandaigua took off in the second half to defeat Penfield 11-5.  The Braves took an early lead 3-1 before Penfield scored back to back goals man-up to end the half in a tie.  When updated, additional stats will be HERE.

Pal-Mac gave Mynderse-Romulus their first loss of the season with a 15-5 win over the Blue Devils.  The Red Raiders scored 10 in the first half.  Leading in scoring were Andra Savage (5g-2a) and Jamie Walker (3g-4a).  Emma Arnold led in draw controls with 5.  For Mynderse-Romulus, Sydney Sandroni (2a) and Saddie Bonetti (2g) led in scoring.  Margaux Eller led in draws with 5.  Additional stats are HERE.

HFL and Eastridge played a back and forth game with the Cougars getting their first win of the season in overtime.  Lexie Ruff scored her third goal of the game 2:12 into the first overtime period.  The Cougars scored four of the first five goals to lead 4-1 with just under 10 minutes remaining.  The Lancers responded with five unanswered to take their own two goal lead.  HFL's Emma Calcagni scored back to back to tie the game at 6-6 before Eastridge took back the lead off a Suzanna Wojnowski goal.  Ruff's tying goal was scored with under 2 minutes in regulation.  Additional stats are HERE.

Mercy and Irondequoit played close for the first half.  Irondequoit led 7-6 after 25 minutes; however, neither team held more than a two goal lead.  Going into the second half, the Eagles held the Monarch scoreless while adding three of their own.  Mercy was led by Kristyn Johnson with 1g-2a.  For the Eagles, Maira Brennan (3g-2a) and Marina Butler (4g-1a) led in scoring.  Erika Sherwood led in draws with 5.  Additional stats are HERE.

After playing a close half, Spencerport took off in the second half to defeat Brighton 11-3.  The Rangers scored the final 7 goals of the game and were led in scoring by Erin Coykendall with 4g-1a.  Brighton was led by Katie Lederman with 2g-1a.  Additional stats are HERE.

Waterloo defeated Wayne 13-10.  The Indians were led by Kari Jensen with 4g-2a.  Madison DeFrancesco added another 2g-2a.  Additional stats are HERE.

Gananda defeated Geneva 16-10 after leading 6-5 at the half.  Geneva was led by Lauren DeVaney with 5g.  Katelyn Ikle led in draws with 3 and groundballs with 2.  Grace Validzic also recorded 2 groundballs.  Gananda's offense was led by Lindsey Wunder with 5g-2a.  Sydney Buchko (4g) and Ceci Salupo (3g-1a) added to the count for Gananda.  Buchko also recorded a team leading 10 draws.  Additional stats are HERE.

Penn Yan defeated Newark-Midlakes 12-6.  Hayley Anderson led the offense for the Mustangs with 4g-3a.  She also recorded 5 draws and 10 groundballs.  Sydney Hulse also recorded 5 draws.  Additional stats are HERE.

Thomas led 6-3 at the half on their way to a 10-3 win over Greece Storm.  Offensively, Abby Quinlan led with 2g-1a for the Titans.  Defensively, Maddie Quinlan led in draws with 4.  Molly McCabe led in caused turnovers with 3.  For Greece Storm, Kelsey Nugent led with 1g-1a.  Angelina Soeffing led in draws with 3 and groundballs with 5.  Additional stats are HERE.

After playing a close half, Pittsford took off and defeated Schroeder 10-5.  Schroeder was led by Annie Mulhall with 3g. Abby Moon led in draw controls with 5.  Additional stats are HERE.

Marcus Whitman defeated Aquinas 10-9.  When updated, additional stats will be HERE.

Hilton defeated Churchville-Chili 15-8.  When updated, additional stats will be HERE.
