Geneva Takes Lead in Final Three Minutes
Geneva scored the opening goal only 0:39 into the game with an unassisted goal from Ali Turner. Turner finished with 5g-1a for the Panthers. The Blue Devils stayed in the game in the beginning of the first quarter. They scored back to back goals to take their only lead of the game. Mykenzie Turner and Sarah Shaffer scored for the Blue Devils.
The Panthers then went on a scoring streak adding six goals to their total before Mynderse scored again. Turner added two, Alicia Reuscher added three goals and Audra Burrall added one goal. With 5:12 remaining in the first half, Geneva led 7-2. M. Turner scored the final goal for the half to give Geneva a 7-3 lead going into halftime.
Mynderse came out of halftime ready to get the game back. They scored five of the first six goals of the second half to tie the game at 8-8 with 14:30 remains in the contest. M. Turner scored her second goal with Sarah Shaffer adding two more to her total and Sadie Mapstone adding her two goals. The Panthers then took control and scored the final two goals to secure their win.
Attackman Lily Seller scored the go-ahead goal for Geneva. She also finished with a team leading five draw-controls.
