The Saints Over the Blue Devils

Most of the six games that were played on Saturday were mismatches, but Churchville-Chili defeated Mynderse-Romulus.

MYNDERSE-ROMULUS 7 - CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 10 - In a close match—by team nickname, perhaps a battle of good against evil---Churchville-Chili outlasted Mynderse-Romulus, 10-7.  The Saints were led by Alaina Reina, who had four goals and gathered seven ground balls, Sydney Bailey, who collected five ground balls and five draw controls, and Mikayla Mellenthine, who made eight saves on 15 shots.  Kelly Kohberger and Haley Mosch each had two goals for the Blue Devils.  [BOXSCORE]

AQUINAS 17 - MT ST. MARY 2 - Aquinas won its first game of the season, defeating Mt. St. Mary by a score of 17-2.  Nine players scored for the Little Irish, including Sienna Hinchcliffe (3g/2a), Mackenna Brown (2g/4a), and Gianna Leonardi (2g/2a).  Mackenna Brown also recorded five draw controls, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers. BRIGHTON 10 - MERCY 5 - Brighton prevailed at home over Mercy, winning 10-5.  Delaney McManus tallied four goals for the Bruins.   Brooke Ellman made nine saves on 14 shots.  For the Monarchs, Olivia Luchetti scored two goals, and Madeleine Fitzgerald had five draw controls and caused three turnovers.  [BOXSCORE]

GENEVA 17 - Eastridge 6 - Geneva took its opening game of the season, defeating visiting Eastridge by a score of 17-6.   Grace Validzic (6g/1a), Rylie McGhan (4g/1a), and Katelyn Ikle (3g/2a) led the scoring for the Panthers.    Allie Good and Katelyn Ikle each collected five ground balls and caused three turnovers.  There were no statistics reported from Eastridge at post time. HILTON 5 - THOMAS 15 - Thomas built an 8-3 halftime lead on its way to a 15-5 victory at Hilton.  Nine players lit the scoring lamp for Thomas, led by Addison Schaeffer (3g/2a) and Kolbi Spencer (3g/1a).  Addison Schaeffer also scooped up four ground balls for the Titans.  There were no statistics reported from Hilton at post time. PENFIELD 7 - CNS 13 - In a non-league game at Penfield, Cicero-North Syracuse defeated the Patriots by a score of 13-7.  There were no statistics reported from either team at post time. When information arrives, it will be available here.
