Tuesday - Canandaigua Wins
In the closest game of the evening, Livonia-Avon outlasted Gananda-Marion 12-7.
BISHOP KEARNEY 5 - AQUINAS 13 - Bishop Kearney Hosted Aquinas tonight and saw Aquinas jump out to an early 7-1 lead through the first half. The second half was more competitive as Bishop Kearney did not give up, however Aquinas ultimately remained undefeated by securing a 13-5 victory. Sienna Hinchcliffe stuffed the stat sheet tonight tallying 3 goals and 2 assists, while also collecting 5 Draw Controls, 4 GB’s and 6 Caused Turnovers. Gianna Leonardi and Carissa Schneider each scored 4 points in the game as well, while Senior Makenna Brown (2g-1a) also put in a well-rounded performance adding 3 Draw Controls and 4 GB’s to her 3 point offensive effort. Aquinas will play Mercy on Thursday in their next match-up, while Bishop Kearney will next take the field against Waterloo on April 30. There was no book from Bishop Kearney at post time. [BOXSCORE]
CANANDAIGUA 14 - PENFIELD 8 - The Canandaigua Braves remained undefeated tonight with a gritty 14-8 win over Class A’s Penfield Patriots. The game was hotly contested throughout most of the evening with Canandaigua bringing a narrow 6-5 lead into the half, and Penfield tying the game at seven with about 16 minutes left in the second half. Ultimately though, offensive explosions by Liv Schorr (6g-1a) and Hanna Davis (4g-2a) proved too much for the Patriots to handle as the Braves pulled away late for the more decisive looking win. Schorr added 3 Draw controls and a Caused Turnover to her impressive scoring tally, and the entire Canandaigua team found ways to contribute to the victory with Abbey Herod scoring 2 goals and notching 1 assist while logging yet another dominant performance on the draw circle collecting 8 Draw controls, causing 2 turnovers and scooping a GB. Goalie Maggie Cross came up with 3 timely saves on the evening and Eliza Blazak and Mya Herman were stalwart defenders making plays and earning possessions for the Braves, accounting for a combined 4 Caused Turnovers and 5 GB’s. Junior Koehler Nieman tallied an assist, tracked down a GB and won 3 Draw controls as well. No Book was submitted for Penfield at time of post. [BOXSCORE]
LIVONIA-AVON 12 - GANANDA-MARION 7 - In the closest game of the evening, Livonia-Avon outlasted Gananda-Marion 12-7 to improve their record to 3-6. Livonia-Avon will next take the field on April 30, when they face Eastridge, and Gananda-Marion will look for their first win of the season when they face Marcus Whitman Wednesday, April 27. HILTON 15 - BROCKPORT 7 - Hilton earned their second win of the season by more than doubling up Brockport tonight, winning 15-7. No book was submitted for Hilton at time of post, however Natalie Cuzzupoli had an impressive 5 goals for the Brockport Blue Devils in a losing effort, while Zoe Baase and and Raegan Hughes each added a goal to account for all of Brockport’s scoring. Sophomore Baylee Degenfelder was a strong contributor between the 30’s for Brockport logging 1 draw control, 2 ground balls and 1 caused turnover. There was no report from Hilton at post time.
