Friday - Brighton Wins in Overtime

Brighton has an overtime win against Penfield which must have been a good game.

GANANDA- MARION 2 - PENN YAN 18 -  Penn Yan breezed to a 18-2 victory over Gananda-Marion.  Ten players lit the scoring lamp for the Mustangs, led by Bailey Cooper (3g/3a).  Corinne Barden, Ruby Berry, Irelynd Densmore, and Gianna Voigt chipped in two goals apiece.  With the win, Penn Yan lifted its record to 5-4.  The Mustangs host Newark-Midlakes on Monday.  The Blue Panthers, who remain winless on the season, travel to Wayne Monday to meet the Eagles.  There were no statistics reported from Gananda-Marion at post time.    [BOXSCORE]

GENEVA  5 - PAL-MAC 11 - In Geneva, Pal-Mac outlasted the Panthers, 11-5.  The Red Raiders (5-3) were led by Reagan Diehl (3g/1a), Kylie Waeghe (5g), Molly Seither (7dc/3gb), and Faith Beals (5s).  For Geneva (4-4), Allie Good had three goals, and Sophia Cosentino recorded an outstanding 14 saves.  Pal-Mac has a non-league contest against Eden on Saturday.  The Panthers have a Monday afternoon contest against Waterloo.   [BOXSCORE]

PENFIELD  9 - BRIGHTON 10 OT -  Brighton edged Penfield, 10-9.  It was the Bruins’ third overtime win of the season---their second against the Patriots---and their sixth straight win after a season-opening loss.  Dating back to the 2021 season, the last four games between these two teams have been decided by a total of five goals.  On Monday, Brighton takes on Spencerport, while Penfield looks to rebound against Greece Storm.  There were no statistics reported from either team at post time.  [BOXSCORE]

NEWARK-MIDLAKES  6 - CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 14 - Madison Buck scored 5g and Sydney Bailey and Alaina Reina each has 2g-1a for the Saints. Kate Mahoney scored 3g for the Reds.   [BOXSCORE]

GATES CHILI  7 - WAYNE 13 -  Wayne picked up its third win of the season, defeating Gates Chili by a score of 13-7.  Riley Simpson had a brilliant all-around game for the Eagles, accounting for four goals, one assist, five draw controls, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers.  The Spartans, who drop to 1-5, host Hilton on Monday.  There were no statistics reported from Gates Chili at post time.  [BOXSCORE]

THOMAS  17 - GREECE STORM 0 - Thomas built a 13-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 17-0 win over Greece Storm.  The Titans (6-2), who travel to Liverpool for a non-league matchup Saturday, used a balanced scoring attack led by Maddie Quinlan (5g), Emily Roddy-Cawley (2g/2a), Addison Schaeffer (2g/2a), and Mya Zeller (2g/3a).  The Storm falls to 5-3.  There were no statistics reported from Greece at post time.   [BOXSCORE]
