Victor Wins NYS Championship

Victor lost no time, scoring the first three goals including the first one in just thirty-six seconds on their way to their first NYS Championship at Cortland. In the other game, HF-L ended their season with the silver medals as they lost to a very strong Manhasset.

QUEENSBURY 5 - VICTOR 14  - NYS CHAMPIONSHIP -  In class B, Victor earned its first-ever State championship in girls lacrosse, defeating Queensbury (II), 14-5.   The Blue Devils jumped out to a 10-1 lead midway through the first half and never looked back.  Eva Pronti scored two goals for Victor and assisted on six others; Devin Livingston (3g/1a), Madison Mabbett (2g/1a), Caitlin Keenan (2g), Amber DeRosa (2g), and Olivia Bruno (2g) were all multiple goal scorers as well.  With the victory, Victor (21-1) stakes its claim as the number one team in New York State.    [BOXSCORE]     

MANHASSET 17 - HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA 2  - NYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Honeoye Falls-Lima ran into a buzz saw in the class C final, falling to Manhasset (VIII) by a score of 17 to 2.  After the Cougars opened the scoring two minutes into the game, Manhasset reeled off the next eight goals over a span of 28 minutes.  Paige Kidd scored both goals for the Cougars, and Lily Brady recorded six saves.  For Manhasset, a perennial Long Island powerhouse, it was their fourth State championship, and their first as a class C team.  Honeoye Falls-Lima, which traditionally plays a very competitive schedule, finished another excellent season with a record of 12-9.     [BOXSCORE]
