Saturday: Gananda-Marion Beats Gates Chili in OT
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Fairport remained undefeated (6-) with their 14-10 win at Baldwinsville. Victor beat Long Island powerhouse St. Anthony's 10-9 and at Gates Chili, the game went to overtime before the Blue Panthers were able to claim their first win of the season. Other local winners today were Pal-Mac and Aquinas.
BALDWINSVILLE-10 at FAIRPORT-14 - Fairport improved to 6-0 with a convincing win over the defending state champion Bees (III), The Red Raiders jumped out to a 9-4 halftime lead and extended their advantage to 14-7 in the second half before three late goals from Baldwinsville concluded the scoring. Jaelyne Twomey (11s/2gb/1ct) had an outstanding game for Fairport. Makayla Keys (1g/4a), Lily Kondas (3g/1a), Katie Mallaber (3g), Ella Peers (2g/1a), and Camryn DuBose (2g/1a) led the scoring for the Red Raiders, who host Thomas on Monday. [ BOX SCORE]
ST ANTHONY'S HIGH SCHOOL-9 at VICTOR-10 - In defeating perennial Long Island powerhouse St. Anthony's, Victor won its third game of the season against two losses. PAL-MAC-15 at WEST SENECA WEST-4 - Pal-Mac (3-0) remained undefeated on the season, coasting to victory over West Seneca West (VI) after building a 10-1 halftime advantage. The bulk of the scoring for the Red Raiders was provided by Lily Boesel (3g), Reagan Diehl (3g), Anna Priebe (5g/1a), and Jenna Santelli (1g/4a). Pal-Mac returns to section V action. CNS-5 at IRONDEQUOIT-4 - The Eagles led by a goal at the half but saw their record fall to 3-3. For undefeated CNS (III), it was the third one-goal victory over a section V opponent this season. GATES CHILI-6 at GANANDA-MARION-7 - This game went to overtime before the Blue Panthers were able to claim their first win of the season. Colleen Ginsberg had an outstanding all-around game for Gananda-Marion, recording four goals, one assist, six draw controls, four ground balls, and four caused turnovers.
