Monday: AQ, Corning and Wayne Win by One
DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - Canandaigua at Fairport and Victor at Thomas were postponed due to lightning. The other eleven games were able to finish. AQ won their game with Waterloo in overtime while Corning beat Penn Yan and Wayne beat Newark by one.
PAL-MAC-4 at SPENCERPORT-15 - Spencerport defended their home turf against the Red Raiders of Pal-mac with an impressive 15-4 win. Freshman Brooke Endres (5g-2a) led all scorers, while Alyssa Nichols (4g-1a) also accounted for ample offensive output, and both took advantage of the many possessions earned by junior, Molly Guzik (3g-1a), who won another 13 draw controls for the Rangers, while also picking up 4 GB’s and causing 2 turnovers. For Pal-Mac, Jenna Santelli (2g), and Reagan Diehl (1g-1a) were multi-point scorers, and goalie Faith Beals made 8 saves. NEWARK-MIDLAKES-8 at WAYNE-9 - In a tight Finger Lakes match-up, Wayne overcame a 5-3 halftime deficit to narrowly defeat Newark-Midlakes 9-8. The win for the Eagles, which improves their record to 3-6 on the season, was powered by 3 goals and 2 assists from Isabella Veltre and a Hat Trick by Marley Hewitt (3g). As a team, Wayne recorded an unbelievable 33 GB’s in one game, while also causing 11 turnovers. No Book was submitted for Newark-Midlakes at time of post. [ BOX SCORE]
CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-3 at SCHROEDER-9 - Webster Schroeder’s 9-3 home win over Churchville Chili served to even both teams' records at 3-6. Schroeder’s Anna Rogers (4g-1a) led all scorers with 5 points, and Ava Dossier (1g-2a) also contributed 3 points. C-C Goalie Mikayla Mellenthine made 12 saves between the pipes for the Saints. RUSH-HENRIETTA-13 at MERCY-7 - Rush Henrietta remained undefeated, traveling to Mercy and returning home victorious after a 13-7 win. Rush Henrietta won both halves of the contest and methodically extended their lead throughout the game behind a five-point evening for senior attacker Lena Cox (4g-1a), and four points a piece for Avery Roberts (3g-1a), and Kate DeWald (2g-2a). DeWald and Roberts also contributed in transition combining for 9 DC’s, 7 GB’s and 1 Caused Turnover. Rush Henrietta is now 10-0, and will next face 10-2 Canandaigua in Canandaigua on Friday. LIVONIA-AVON-12 at EASTRIDGE-6 - Livonia-Avon overcame a 5-4 halftime deficit to defeat Eastridge in convincing fashion 12-6. No book was submitted for victorious Livonia-Avon at time of post, however notable performances for Eastridge included Ada Krupa (2g-3a), Bella Denaro (4g), and Melody Gaudio (9s) in net. Eastridge hosts Churchville-Chili on Wednesday, and Livonia-Avon will look to continue their winning streak against Greece Storm at home on Thursday. [ BOX SCORE]
BRIGHTON-10 at IRONDEQUOIT-8 - Brighton traveled to Irondequoit this evening and handed their class B rival a 10-8 defeat. Brighton dominated the first 3 quarters of the game, opening up a 10-3 lead midway through the second half, however the Eagles came storming back with 5 straight goals to tighten the game with 1 minute still remains on the clock. Brighton was able to secure the final draw control and run out the clock to secure the win. Maeve Brennan (4g-1a) had a solid game for the Eagles, and was instrumental in Irondequoit’s valiant effort, which ultimately came up short. No Book was submitted for Brighton at time of post. BROCKPORT-3 at HILTON-16 - Hilton procured their second win of the season in emphatic fashion by defending their home field against Brockport in a 16-3 victory. Hilton’s Lilly Mattucci (5g-1a) was the leading scorer in the game, while Sydney Heise (1g-4a) and Elena Graziani (1g-4a) posted identical feeders lines. CORNING-11 at PENN YAN-10 - Penn Yan suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Section IV's Corning in a back and forth contest which ended 11-10. The Mustangs led the Hawks 4-2 at halftime but were not able to hold off Corning’s strong second half surge. For Penn Yan, freshman Bailey Cooper scored 5 goals, while Junior Midfielder, Taylor Mullins (3g-1a) also contributed 4 points. Penn Yan travels to Newark-Midlakes on Wednesday. [ BOX SCORE]
BISHOP KEARNEY-7 at GENEVA-14 - Geneva doubled up Bishop Kearney 14-7 tonight on the Panthers home field. Allie Good (9g-2a) went off for an explosive 11-point night, while Mikayla Myer (3g-3a) also accounted for 6 points. No book was submitted for Bishop Kearney at time of post. [ BOX SCORE]
GREECE STORM-14 at GATES CHILI-5 - Gates Chili is still searching for their first victory after suffering a 14-5 defeat at the hands of Greece Storm tonight. Greece improved their record to 4-2 with Mara Misiurewicz (5g-1a), Alison Dioguardi (4g-2a), Emma Dioguardi (5a), and Erica Savage (3g-2a) working together to provide a plethora of points for the Storm. WATERLOO-MARCUS WHITMAN-11 at AQUINAS-12 - In overtime, Aquinas edged out Waterloo-MW 12-11, bringing their record to 9-2 on the season and dropping W-MW to 5-4. Aquinas pulled the victory after falling behind 5-4 at halftime and saw yet another big night for Hinchcliffe sisters Sienna (5g-3a) and Savannah (4g).
