Livonia-Avon Gets One-Goal Win
DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were only two games played today. Livonia-Avon beat Aquinas 13-12 and Newark-Midlakes beat Marcus Whitman to give their new Head Coach Rachel Youngman her first win for the Eagles.
MARCUS WHITMAN-5 at NEWARK-MIDLAKES-12 - The Screaming Eagles won their season opener for new coach Rachel Youngman. There were no statistics reported from Newark-Midlakes at post time. For Marcus Whitman, Sophia Snyder had three goals, and eighth-grader Evelyn Royston scored her first varsity goal. Next on tap for Newark-Midlakes is a non-league matchup against North Tonawanda (VI). The Wildcats resume play Friday when they visit Mynderse-Romulus. [ BOX SCORE]
LIVONIA-AVON-13 at AQUINAS-12 - In the first game of the season for both teams, the Lakers emerged with a narrow victory over the Little Irish. Megan Carr (5g/1a) and Lily Rowe (4g/1a) led the scoring for Livonia-Avon. Maddie Whitford also had a strong all-around game for Livonia-Avon, recording two goals, an assist, and 10 draw controls. There were no statistics reported from Aquinas at post time. On Saturday, the Bulldogs travel to Churchville-Chili to face the Saints, and the Little Irish have a non-league contest against visiting Frontier (VI).
