Penfield and Hilton Win in OT

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - It was Penfield over Brighton and Hilton over Schroeder in overtime in the two closest games of the day. Section V went two-for-two against out of Section teams as Canandaigua beat Orchard Park (Section VI) and Rush-Henrietta took out Fayetteville-Manlius (Section III).

Mynderse vs Eastridge/BKNEWARK-MIDLAKES-7 at LIVONIA-AVON-14 -  8th grade offensive player Evie Walters scored her first Varsity goal for the Lakers (3-0) and was joined in the offensive effort by Sidney Clickner (4g-1a), Lily Rowe (4g-2a), Maddie Whitford (3g-3a), and Megan Carr (2g-1a). Leading the scoring for Newark-Midlakes (2-1) were 8th grade offensive player Zoey Overslaugh (3g-1a), Sophomore midfielder Jamie Lawson (3g), and Senior offensive player Stella Del Papa (1g). The Lakers host Geneva tomorrow and Newark-Midlakes host Geneva on Wednesday.        [ BOX SCORE

MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-8 at EASTRIDGE/BK-15 -  Ashley Mandeville (7g/2a), Jillian Willis (4g/1a), and Ada Krupa (3g/3a) provided the bulk of the scoring for the winning Eastridge/Bishop Kearney squad, and Danica Burton recorded her first varsity goal.  Myah Herron and Chelsea Korzeniewski scored three goals apiece for the Blue Devils, who remain winless on the season.  On Thursday, Eastridge/Bishop Kearney hosts Gananda-Marion and Mynderse-Romulus hosts Wayne.       [ BOX SCORE]   - - More images in the photo gallery.

Mynderse vs Eastridge/BKWATERLOO-12 at AQUINAS-16 - The Aquinas attack was powered by Savannah Hinchcliffe (6g), who also recorded eight draw controls and three caused turnovers, and ninth-grader Brynn Henry (5g).  The Tigers, who suffered their first loss of the season, were led by Maci Mueller (7g/1a), Giana Delucia (3g), and Bailey Rossignol (2g); Mueller also collected eight draw controls.  The Little Irish visit Mercy on Thursday.  The Tigers take on Eastridge/Bishop Kearney on Friday.     [ BOX SCORE

GATES CHILI-1 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-18 -  Eight different players scored goals for Churchville-Chili including Sophomores Kayla Cervini and Ella Jenkins who scored their first Varsity goals today. Leading the scoring for the Saints (2-4) were Campbell Hewlett (4g-1a), Shavonne Callahan (4g), Abigail DeVries (3g-1a), and Mackenzie Marsh (3g). In the goal for Churchville-Chili was junior Mikayla Mellenthine who recorded 3s/0ga = 100% (48 mins).  There was no report from Gates Chili at post-time.       [ BOX SCORE

BRIGHTON-10 at PENFIELD-11 -  Jenna Capozzi scored in overtime to complete a late comeback and secure the win for the Patriots, their first over their rivals from Brighton since 2021.  Emma Alexander and Peyton Rothfuss each scored three goals for the Patriots, who trailed 9-6 going into the fourth quarter.  Brighton sustained its fourth defeat of the season, the last two of which have been in overtime.  There were no statistics reported from Brighton at post time.  The Patriots host Hilton on Saturday.  The Bruins resume play Wednesday when they meet Pittsford.      [ BOX SCORE

Mynderse vs Eastridge/BKORCHARD PARK-6 at CANANDAIGUA-18 -  The Gray Wolves maintained their undefeated season (6-0) with the win today. Junior Leah Hoeksema scored her first Varsity goal for CA while Nola Weaver (3g-1a) reached her 50th career goal. Seven different players made the offensive list including Samantha Lupton (5g-1a), Hanna Davis (3g-2a), Keira Gioseffi (2g-1a).  There was no information from Orchard Park at post-time.      [ BOX SCORE

MERCY-9 at FAIRPORT-14 -  Fairport never trailed in gaining its fourth victory of the season.  Leading the scoring for the Red Raiders were Camryn DuBose (6g) and ninth-grader Brenna Goss (3g).  Ella Peers contributed two goals along with nine draw controls.  For Mercy, Mia Quagrello tallied three goals and two assists, while Elinor Meyer recorded 10 saves to help keep the game close.  Fairport takes on Thomas Wednesday.  The Monarchs travel to HF-L for a game against the Cougars on Tuesday.     [ BOX SCORE

WAYNE-3 at BROCKPORT-10 -  Scoring for Wayne were Lauren Twist (2g), and Isabella Veltre (1g).  There was no report from Brockport at post-time.       [ BOX SCORE

Mynderse vs Eastridge/BKRUSH-HENRIETTA-15 at FAYETTEVILLE-MANLIUS-8 -  For the Royal Comets, who pulled away in the second half, the victory improves their record to 4-1.  Riley Brown and Danielle Garrett had four goals each including, for Garrett, her 100th career point.  Kate DeWald collected 13 draw controls in addition to recording three goals and two assists.  The Royal Comets face off Wednesday against Victor.      [ BOX SCORE

Thomas vs ThomasTHOMAS-6 at PENN YAN-11 -   With the win, the Mustangs improve to 6-1.  Bailey Cooper led the stampede with five goals and an assist.  Sophia Shortino had two goals for Thomas (1-4).  On Thursday, the Mustangs travel to Westhill (III) for a non-league matchup.  Next on the schedule for Thomas is an away match Wednesday against Fairport.     [ BOX SCORE

IRONDEQUOIT-15 at PAL-MAC-3 -  Scoring for Pal-Mac were Junior offensive player Jenna Santelli (2g), Junior attacker Anna Priebe (1g), and Sophomore Claire Nolan (1a).  There was no report from Irondequoit (3-1) at post-time.        [ BOX SCORE

SCHROEDER-6 at HILTON-7 in overtime - It was the first time that the Cadets had defeated Schroeder in eight outings. Leading the scoring for Hilton (2-2) were Junior midfielder Lilly Mattucci (2g-2a), Freshman Charley Barlette (1g-1a), 8th grade attacker Maia Streb (2g), and 8th grade midfielder Kamille Ehmann (1a). Scoring for Schroeder (2-3) were Junior attacker Brooke Guelli (1g-1a), Senior offensive player Makenna Baier (2g), Junior attacker Lindsay Ruffalo (1g), Sophomore midfielder Molly Meyer (1g), and Senior offensive player Kylee Race (1g). Hilton is at Penfield on Saturday and Schroeder is at Brockport on Wednesday.         [ BOX SCORE
