Pittsford, Thomas, Brockport and Brighton Win by One
DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Lots of close games tonight as Pittsford beat Spencerport 10-9, Thomas defeated cross-town Schroeder 7-6, Brockport beat Gates Chili 8-7 and Brighton beat Gates Chili 8-7 in overtime.
MARCUS WHITMAN-4 at MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-15 - The Blue Devils (4-3) jumped out to an 8-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Leading the scoring for Mynderse-Romulus were Myah Herron (5g) and Chelsea Korzeniewski (2g/5a), while Lulu Ferrara and Kinsey Kime each scored her first varsity goal. Marcus Whitman had goals from Evelyn Royston, Raegan Weissinger, Aliysiah Clark, and Sophia Snyder. On Tuesday, the Blue Devils face Newark-Midlakes. The Wildcats look for their first win Monday when they face Gananda-Marion. [ BOX SCORE]
LIVONIA-AVON-8 at WATERLOO-13 - With the win, Waterloo improves its record to 5-2. Maci Mueller led the scoring barrage for the Tigers with seven goals and two assists, Giana Delucia chipped in three goals, and Peyton Lyons recorded nine saves. For Livonia-Avon, Lily Rowe had four goals, including the 50th of her varsity career; Maddie Whitford also had four goals. Next on the schedule for Waterloo is a home contest Monday against Aquinas. FAIRPORT-14 at IRONDEQUOIT-10 - For the Red Raiders (8-2), who were led by Katie Mallaber (3g/1a) and Ella Peers (3g/2a), it was their sixth consecutive victory. Camryn DuBose, Brenna Goss, and Ellie Miller each contributed two goals. Alison Baumgartner tallied four goals for Irondequoit (5-4). Fairport has a non-league matchup against Corning-Painted Post (IV) on Monday. The Eagles visit HF-L on Wednesday for a game against the Cougars. [ BOX SCORE]
BROCKPORT-8 at GATES CHILI-7 - Jessica Maher stopped six shots for the victorious Blue Devils, who improve to 3-5. Zoe Baase and eighth-grader Molly McJury each had three goals and combined to secure 11 draw controls. Ninth-grader Danielle Holzschuh scored her first varsity goal for the Eagles. There were no statistics reported from Gates Chili at post time. Brockport resumes play Saturday with a home contest against Eastridge/Bishop Kearney. BRIGHTON-7 at SKANEATELES-8 in overtime - For the Bruins (2-6), it was their third one-goal loss of the season. Lucy Lederman (2g), Ireland Mistretta (3g), and Anthea Hayslip (2g) accounted for all of Brighton`s scoring; Lederman also recorded a team-high seven draw controls, including the 100th of her varsity career. The Bruins look to turn the page on their season Monday when they take on Penfield for the second time in two weeks. [ BOX SCORE]
RUSH-HENRIETTA-17 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-8 - The Royal Comets (7-2) pulled away in the second half to secure the win. Riley Brown, Danielle Garrett, and Ashlyn Roberts had four goals apiece for Rush-Henrietta, while Kate DeWald collected a game-high 10 draw controls. Paige Kidd accounted for six of HF-L’s eight goals, the first of which was the 100th of her varsity career. The Royal Comets seek their fourth consecutive win when they travel to Pittsford Wednesday for a game against the Panthers. PITTSFORD-10 at SPENCERPORT-9 - The Panthers rallied from a 7-5 halftime deficit to gain their fourth victory of the season. It was Pittsford`s twelfth win over Spencerport in the teams` 13-game series history. There were no statistics reported from Pittsford (4-5) at post time. Molly Guzik (6g/1a) and Brooke Endres (3g/1a) excelled for Spencerport (7-3). Guzik also achieved a career milestone with the 400th draw control of her varsity career. Pittsford hosts class A rival Rush-Henrietta on Wednesday. The Rangers host Mercy on Monday. [ BOX SCORE]
THOMAS-7 at SCHROEDER-6 - The Titans (3-7) eked out a win in this tight cross-town matchup. Mia Estelle scored three goals for Thomas and ninth-grader Morgan Weber had six saves. For Schroeder (5-5), Makenna Baier, Molly Meyer, and Lola Wambach each had two tallies, and Maura Ugine saved 16 shots. The Titans visit Pal-Mac on Monday. The Warriors are off until a week from Saturday, when they travel to Lancaster (VI) for a non-league contest. [ BOX SCORE]
EASTRIDGE/BK-17 at GANANDA-MARION-9 - Eastridge/Bishop Kearney (4-3) was led by Ashley Mandeville, who had seven goals and two assists, and Ada Krupa, who recorded four goals and five assists—the pair also combined for 19 draw controls—and by Addi Tremel, who scored her first varsity goal. For the Blue Panthers, Colleen Ginsberg had four goals and an assist to go with five draw controls, and Maria Melnik had 13 saves. Gananda-Marion remains winless on the season.
