R-H over Pittsford by One and Gananda Over Geneva

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were ten games played today and a couple of close ones. Canandaigua was a 9-6 winner over Spencerport, Penfield beat Fairport 11-9, HFL took Irondequoit 12-11, Gananda-Marion was a 10-8 winner over Geneva and Rush-Henrietta defeated Pittsford 8-7.

SPENCERPORT-6 at CANANDAIGUA-9 - On Senior Night, the Canandaigua Grey Wolves erased a 2 goal deficit in the third quarter with a furious 5-goal run to capture the lead for good and send Spencerport back home with 9-6 defeat.  The Grey Wolves are now 11-0, and the Rangers are 8-4, Sophomore Leah Sheridan (3g, 2a) led all scores with a5 point night, while fellow Sophomore Lola Schorr (2g, 1a) also delivered some offensive punch for the Grey Wolves.   Canandaigua’s effort was just as strong on the defensive end, causing 6 turnovers and scooping up 11 GB’s as a team, led by Senior Captain Caroline Lyttle with 3 Caused Turnovers and 2 Ground Balls, and Junior Nola Weaver (2g, 2 DC, 3 GB) who was impactful all over the field.  For Spencerport, Molly Guzik (3g) dominated the Draw circle, and Brooke Endres (2g) was second on the team in both goals and Draw Controls.         [ BOX SCORE

FAIRPORT-9 at PENFIELD-11 - Penfield (7-4) scored eight unanswered goals spanning the second through fourth quarters to overcome an 8-3 deficit and claim the win.  Karis Hand had nine saves to help spur the Patriots’ comeback.  Whitney Reynolds and Jenna Capozzi scored three goals apiece for Penfield.  Ella Peers led Fairport (9-3) with three goals; among her four draw controls was the 100th of her career.  Ninth-grader Brenna Goss recorded two goals and five draw controls for Fairport.  Both teams resume play on Friday, when the Patriots visit Hilton and the Red Raiders host unbeaten Canandaigua.        [ BOX SCORE

IRONDEQUOIT-11 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-12 - The Cougars prevailed in a tightly-fought contest.  For HF-L (4-6), Lily Brady led the way with 17 saves, Shaye Angelo had four goals and an assist including the overtime game-winner, and Paige Kidd collected six draw controls as well as three goals.  Ella Brennan (4g) and Alison Baumgartner (3g) led the scoring for Irondequoit (5-5).  Both teams are on the road Friday, the Cougars traveling to Pittsford to face the Panthers and Eagles visiting Rush-Henrietta.

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-16 at BROCKPORT-3 - It was the Saints’ fifth straight win over Brockport dating back to 2019.  Eight players scored for Churchville-Chili (5-6), including Campbell Hewlett (4g), Rorey Turk (3g), and Shavonne Callahan (2g/1a).  Alexi Finnigan (5dc), Campbell Hewlett (3dc), and Mackenzie Marsh (6dc) helped the Saints control the draw circle.  Zoe Baase, Molly McJury, and Samantha Webster were the goal scorers for Brockport (4-7).  The Saints host Hilton on Monday.  The Blue Devils take on Wayne Thursday.        [ BOX SCORE

GENEVA-8 at GANANDA-MARION-10 - Gananda-Marion won their second game in a row, improving their record to 2-8 with a 10-8 win over Genoa, whose record falls to 3-7. Gananda-Marion was led by Lexi Gallina (4g, 1a) who also won an eye-popping 12 Draw Controls, and Senior Colleen Ginsburg (3g) also chipped in with a hat trick.  For Geneva, Meghan Forbes (4g) was the top offensive producer.         [ BOX SCORE

LIVONIA-AVON-9 at WAYNE-11 - The Wayne Eagles defeated Livonia-Avon in Wayne  11-9 on the wings of a 5-point night for Junior, Isabella Veltre (3g, 2a).  Fellow Junior, Madelyn Hillman (3g) was the second highest scorer for Wayne and Goalie Mimi Ugalde (10s, 53% save percentage) also came up big in helping Wayne to earn the victory.  Another key factor in the win were the nearly innumerable Ground Balls recorded for the Eagles.  No Book was submitted for Livonia-Avon at time of post.        [ BOX SCORE

WATERLOO-7 at PAL-MAC-13 - Pal-Mac defended their home turf against class D rival Waterloo, improving their record to 7-3 with decisive 13-7 victory over the Tigers.  Pal-Mac’s balanced offense featured  8 different point scorers, and was paced by Anna Priebe (4g) and Jenna Santelli, while Waterloo’s Maci Meuller (4g, 3a) scored a game high 7 points, either scoring or assisting on all of Waterloo’s goals.      [ BOX SCORE

RUSH-HENRIETTA-8 at PITTSFORD-7 - Kate DeWald (3g/2a) scored the game-winning goal off a free position opportunity with 1.2 seconds left in the game.  Riley Brown also had three tallies for the Royal Comets and Angelia Oechsle had 10 saves.  There were no statistics reported from Pittsford (4-6) at post time.  On Friday, Rush-Henrietta (8-2) plays host to Irondequoit and Pittsford is at home to face HF-L.         [ BOX SCORE

HILTON-2 at BRIGHTON-16 - Brighton won their second straight game at home defeating Hilton by the convincing score of 16-2.  Brighton is now 4-6 and hosts CNS on Saturday.  Hilton is3-7 and hosts Penfield on Friday.  No Book was submitted for either team at time of post    [ BOX SCORE

GATES CHILI-3 at GREECE STORM-12 - For the Storm, it was their ninth consecutive win over the Spartans dating back to 2018.  Mara Misiurewicz had five goals and an assist, and Erica Savage recorded two goals, three assists, and five draw controls for Greece (7-3).  There were no statistics reported from Gates Chili (1-6) at post time.  Both teams have home games Friday, with Greece facing Eastridge/Bishop Kearney and Gates Chili taking on Gananda-Marion.       [ BOX SCORE
