Two Close Semis and Two Not So Close

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - The seeding was broken in Class a as Pittsford #4 stunned Penfield #1 with a 7-6 win. In the other bracket Fairport #3 beat Rush-Henrietta #2 11-9, so for the championship Fairport #3 will play Pittsford #4. In Class D Penn Yan #1 will play Pal-Mac #2 for the Championship.

Waterloo vs Pal-MacFAIRPORT-11 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-9 - No. 3 Fairport fought back from a 7-2 halftime deficit, Ella Peers (4g) scored the go-ahead goal early in the fourth quarter, and Marisa Test made two late saves to secure the upset win.   Peers also collected a game-high 11 draw controls.  Camryn DuBose and Katie Mallaber had three goals apiece for Fairport (11-6).  For No. 2 Rush-Henrietta, Riley Brown led the scoring with four goals and one assist, and Ashlyn Roberts contributed three goals.  The Royal Comets end their season with a record of 12-5.  The Red Raiders move on to the class A finals, where they will face No. 4 Pittsford on Tuesday.        [ BOX SCORE

PAL-MAC-19 at WATERLOO-4 - For the Red Raiders, it was their seventh consecutive win.  Eight players scored for No. 3 Pal-Mac (14-4), including Teagan Hudak (2g/3a), Anna Priebe (4g/1a), Reagan Diehl (4g), Jenna Santelli (3g), and Lily Boesel (3g), and Isabelle Cole had five saves.  Ninth-grader Peyton Lyons had five saves for No. 2 Waterloo, including her 100th of the season.  Maci Mueller and Lainie Forde each scored two goals for the Tigers, who finish their season with a record of 13-5.  Pal-Mac meets No. 1 Penn Yan in the class D final on Tuesday.         [ BOX SCORE

Waterloo vs Pal-MacAQUINAS-3 at PENN YAN-19 - No. 1 Penn Yan collected its 15th win of the season against three losses.  Leading the scoring for the Mustangs were Bailey Cooper (3g/2a), Corinne Barden (2g/3a), and Gianna Voigt (3g).  Madisen Pierce scored her first varsity goal for Penn Yan.  For No. 4 Aquinas, ninth-grader Brynn Henry had two goals, including the 50th of her varsity career; she also collected her 100th career draw control.  Aquinas concludes its season with a record of 9-8.  On Tuesday, the Mustangs will meet No. 3 Pal-Mac to decide the class D title.        [ BOX SCORE

PITTSFORD-7 at PENFIELD-5 - With the win, the Panthers advance to the class A finals, where they will take on No. 3 Fairport on Tuesday.  There were no statistics reported from either team at post time.  No. 4 Pittsford improves to 9-9 on the season; No. 1 Penfield ends a promising season with a record of 12-5.       [ BOX SCORE
