Victor Wins State Title
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Section V had two teams in the NYS Championships and one came home with the title. CNS (Section III) defeated Fairport 12-8 and Victor beat West Genesee 16-8.
WEST GENESEE-8 at VICTOR-16 - in a NYS Championship game - The Blue Devils repeated and won their third Championship game in a row. Victor took a 6-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 10-4 at the half. Stats were not available at post-time. [ BOX SCORE]
CNS-12 at FAIRPORT-8 in a NYS Championship game - The Red Raiders fell just short in their bid for a second consecutive class A title. After Fairport rallied from a three-goal deficit to tie the game at seven entering the fourth quarter, C-NS (III) reeled off three straight goals to put the game out of reach. Ella Peers (4g/1a) and Camryn DuBose (1g/2a) led the scoring for the Red Raiders. Katie Mallaber, Brenna Goss, and Ella Peers were named to the All-Tournament team. Fairport concludes another highly successful season with a record of 14-7. [ BOX SCORE]
